Word from the street is Sarah Lafleur has been tapped to play a recurring role on NBC’s Prime Suspect. You may recognize Lafleur from such television shows as Ugly Betty, and The Mentalist. Information regarding Lafleur’s part in Prime Suspect is pretty scarce. And that means it’s time for my favorite part of the day; creating random theories based on very little information and seeing if it makes any sense at all!

What we know is as follows: Lafleur is playing Jane’s (Maria Bello) little sister. That’s it. We should all know (because everyone’s watching this show religiously, right?) Jane is an abrasive character. She’s a brilliant homicide detective, but her social skills are lacking. Personally, I think her and me would get along swimmingly, but my real question is how do her and her sister get along?

Ayda Field joins ABC comedy
Ayda Field has landed the female lead on ABC's untitled David Kohan/Max Mutchnick comedy pilot.

The project, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on two men -- Derek (Josh Cooke), who is straight, and Drew (Alan Tudyk), who is gay -- who are lifelong best friends and business partners.

Field will play Audrey, Derek's stylish but emotionally messy girlfriend.

The role has been recast following the pilot's table read. Sarah Lafleur, who originally was set for the part, is under a talent deal with ABC and is expected to be attached to another project for the network.

Field most recently co-starred as ditsy weathergirl Montana on Fox's sitcom Back to You. She also had a role on the WBTV-produced Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip for NBC.

More actors tapped for pilots

Rick Gomez has been tapped to co-star in ABC's dramedy pilot Cupid, Gail O'Grady has been tapped for a lead role on the untitled Dave Hemingson drama pilot and Sarah Lafleur has been tapped to co-star in the untitled David Kohan/Max Mutchnick comedy pilot.

The ABC Studios-produced Cupid is an updated version of Rob Thomas' 1990s comedy and centers on Trevor (Bobby Cannavale) who thinks he is the Roman god of love.

Gomez (What About Brian) will play Felix, the owner of a struggling Manhattan dive bar who rents a room to Trevor despite his odd personality.

Gomez, who will next be seen in Taylor Hackford's Love Ranch, is repped by APA and the Collective.

The Dave Hemingson project, from 20th TV, is an ensemble centered on a law school grad (Matt Long) from a blue-collar background who joins a Los Angeles boutique law firm. O?Grady will play Susan Oppenheim, a competitive, cutthroat attorney at the firm who is married to the managing partner.

Kelly Hu and Greg Germann have been cast in ABC's comedy series In Case of Emergency. Meanwhile, Cary Elwes will lead the cast of NBC's one-hour pilot Sky, which also includes Missi Pyle, Bruno Campos has landed one of the two leads in NBC's untitled Chris Sheridan comedy pilot, and Dondre Whitfield and Sarah Lafleur have joined ABC's comedy pilot Our Thirties. On the cable side, Todd Williams and Fred Weller have come aboard the USA Network pilot In Plain Sight. Emergency, from Touchstone TV, revolves around four friends from high school who reunite unexpectedly when each hits a crossroads in their lives.
