- Paul Laffitte was born on October 24, 1864 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Paul was a writer and producer, known for Mister Hobo (1935), Rothchild (1933) and The Assassination of the Duke de Guise (1908). Paul died on June 29, 1949 in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Val-de-Marne, France.
- He co-founded in 1908 with André Calmettes and Charles Le Bargy la société du Film d'art. He was a friend of Blaise Cendrars and Abel Gance.
- Author, businessman and publisher, he also had the pseudonym of Bottom.
