There are more film festivals and music festivals out there than we care to count, but here at Zap2it, our hearts are in the TV business -- which is why we are so flippin' excited to attend the first annual Atx Festival, a television-a-palooza in Austin, Texas.
Featuring tons of our small screen faves, Atx Festival doesn't discriminate against underrated or canceled shows. "Life Unexpected" will have a major presence at the event, with creator Liz Tigelaar on hand to answer questions and stars Arielle Kebbel, Britt Roberston, and Shiri Appleby in the house to reminisce with us. "One Tree Hill" creator Mark Schwahn is attending, along with the ever-swoonworthy James Lafferty.
We're particularly psyched for a "Friday Night Lights" party with a screening attended by executive producers Jason Katims and David Hudgins, along with cast members like Scott Porter, Michael B. Jordan, Matt Lauria, Gaius Charles, Alicia Witt, »

It’s been a little over a week since we said a sad so long to Nathan Scott & Co., and — since we’re still in the early stages of mourning (aka denial) — we decided a trip back to One Tree Hill was in order.
Here, creator Mark Schwahn and star James Lafferty relive the series finale and answer your lingering questions, which likely include “What about Peyton?” “Why Bevin?” And, of course, “How come no one in Tree Hill ages?!”
Were any scenes cut from the series finale? | Schwahn tells us that, thankfully, the network agreed to air the uncut Oth finale, »

Millions of fans said goodbye to One Tree Hill this week as the two hour series finale made it to our television screens. The finale began with a special one hour retrospective with creator, Mark Schwahn and the cast. Not often does a creator of a hit show and the cast come together to talk about what makes their show and the experience of making it so special, with their connection to the fans at the forefront. As Bethany Joy Lenz wrote on her blog, “In a strange way, an indirect way… I supposed we raised each other.”
“It’s about falling in love, it’s about making someone proud of you, it’s about being proud of yourself. It’s about that quiet voice that tells you, you could do better.” – Mark Schwahn
Schwahn said it best when he said, “What’s real about it are the emotions behind it and the people. »

Warning: Don't read this post until you've watched the 'One Tree Hill' series finale. It contains so many beautiful spoilers. Mark Schwahn told me he wanted to make the series finale feel like "a quintessential One Tree Hill episode," and that's exactly what he delivered April 4: introspective voiceovers, unforgettable performances, and a look into the future that wrapped up nine years of story into an hour-long love letter to the fans of "the little show that could." So, without further adieu, here are the 24 moments that reduced me to a ridiculous Andy Puddle during the final hour of One Tree Hill: 1. The opening shot of Tree Hill with the show title looming in the sky. 2. The characters, as grown ups, looking back at their 17-year-old selves. 3. Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) going through the old box of predictions. 4. Brooke (Sophia Bush) running her fingers along the records »

Tonight we say goodbye to "One Tree Hill" after nine years on the air, but the cast and crew said goodbye in mid-November when picture wrapped on the 187th episode in Wilmington, Nc. Now, over four months later, creator Mark Schwahn and the cast we've come to think of as friends have moved on to new projects.
We realize that emotions are still raw right now, but when you're ready -- here's where you can find those familiar faces.
Mark Schwahn: Schwahn is currently back in North Carolina overseeing production on his pilot, "Shelter," which is a contender for The CW's Fall 2012 schedule. The pilot, which he's executive producing with J.J. Abrams, will certainly appeal to "One Tree Hill" fans -- it's an old-school WB feel, an undeniable earnestness, and the same themes of hope and friendship that we saw on Oth.

One Tree Hill wraps up nine emotional seasons Wednesday night with a two-hour series finale on the CW. I’ll admit that it really will be hard to say goodbye.
I was a high school freshman when One Tree Hill debuted on the then-wb network in September 2003. Like brainy Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and baby-faced Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray), I was navigating my way through teen angst. I tuned in because I had a Dawson’s Creek-size hole in my schedule and I would do just about anything not to do my English homework.

How does a show like The CW’s One Tree Hill — which over nine seasons has given us psycho stalkers, heart-eating dogs, coming-of-age teens (and then adults!), car crashes and more weddings, babies, deaths and hook-ups than we can possibly count — plan to wrap things up in tonight’s two-hour series finale event (airing at 8/7c)?
“Quietly,” shares showrunner Mark Schwahn.

When Tyler Hilton was cast as Chris Keller on "One Tree Hill" in 2004, he was a 20-year-old little-known singer-songwriter with only one small acting credit to his name -- a bit part as "folk singer" on an episode of "American Dreams." This week, as "One Tree Hill" airs its series finale on Wednesday, April 4, Hilton will be celebrating the release of his album, "Forget the Storm," from his own record label.
In addition to being his first full-length studio album in 8 years, "Forget the Storm" is Hilton's first independent release. Last year, fans were eagerly awaiting an album from Hilton titled "The Storms We Share," which was never released. As the new record's title implies, Hilton had to put that album behind him.
"'The Storms We Share' was coming out on Warner Bros, and I kind of came to a moment where I thought, 'Well, I don't know where this company is going. »

The final episode of One Tree Hill before the series finale brought mixed emotions. Last week delivered the goods while this week may have left some at the gate. What a disappointment it has been to watch the final season with barely any James Lafferty and find that this week, even after Nathan has been rescued, there still wasn’t much to show here. After last week’s incredibly powerful and momentous episode for the Scotts, they took a backseat this week, leaving out some much anticipated depth. With a two hour series finale airing next week and Peyton and Lucas to look forward to, perhaps this was the calm after the storm and before the big hoorah. That said, was anybody else expecting a bit more?

Here's the trailer for a new western thriller called The Legend of Hell's Gate: An American Conspiracy, which is apparently based on a true story. I'm a big fan of westerns, but I've got to admit... this movie doesn't really look that good. There's some pretty silly dialogue, when you watch the trailer it's not hard to miss.
The film was written and directed by Tanner Beard, and stars Eric Balfour, Lou Taylor Pucci, Henry Thomas, Jenna Dewan, Summer Glau, Jamie Thomas King, Kevin Alejandro, Tanner Beard, James Lafferty and Robert Buckley.
Here's the synopsis:
In 1870s Texas, a ruthless bounty hunter and an Irish desperado flee the law with a young criminal claiming to possess a treasure more valuable than gold. Crossing paths with some of the West's most notorious figures, the three outlaws fight for their lives in the pursuit of fame and fortune. Fueled by an ensemble »

What a moving introduction last night on One Tree Hill. There was so much anxiety, anger, and then warmth. In the words of a fellow One Tree Hill viewer, “I’m about to cry and I don’t even cry over television shows. This is too sad.” “Danny Boy” was undoubtedly the most emotionally draining episode of the season. It reminded me of the season three finale, all of that emotion in the final moments coming like a sudden flood. Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) seemed to have tears flowing in every scene, making us all wrecks throughout. Bethany Joy Lenz was phenomenal. Danny’s death was inevitable but even knowing what was coming, what a heartbreaking episode this was. The villain turned hero met his with loved ones surrounding him.

Dan finally earns his son's love & gets a surprise visitor from 'Tree Hill' past! This was the most emotional episode of the season. Jamie's (Jackson Brundage) words "He'll be alright, he's Grandpa Dan," echoed throughout the hospital on the March 21 episode of One Tree Hill, as everyone came together after Dan (Paul Johansson) took a a bullet for Nathan (James Lafferty). The doctors informed the newly reunited Scott family that after being shot, and combined with his heart problems, it was likely that Dan wouldn't survive. Throughout the episode, Dan had flashbacks of the many paths he'd chosen in life. Some were good moments, like the 0ne time he and Nathan actually played basketball without keeping score, but others were more tragic events Dan sincerely regrets, like shooting his brother. But just when you thought he'd pull through, Dan flatlined and was visited by none-other-than his brother, Keith (Craig Sheffer). At this point, »

Hide the sharp objects! Paul says tomorrow night's 'One Tree Hill' is going to be a nail-biter! In case you weren't able to tell from the intense promos, the March 21 episode of One Tree Hill is going to be the most emotional one yet -- and Paul Johansson urges you to plan accordingly. Fans should "take any glass objects they have in the house, stomp on them, then walk in a puddle of iodine," Paul tells HollywoodLife.com. "Therefore, they will be numb." The episode, titled "Danny Boy," finds Tree Hill's most controversial character hospitalized after being shot saving Nathan (James Lafferty) -- and his life hangs in the balance. But as you might expect, Dan Scott isn't giving up that easily. "The character can't be weepy or weak," Paul tells me. "That's not who he is. He takes his licks in life. ... I'm very excited for people to see the episode. »

One Tree Hill delivered one of the most thrilling episodes of the season, arguably the series this week with “Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will.” Even the soap opera nature of the Xavier story line can be overlooked given just how much these scenes kept our hearts racing. Father and son were reunited. A mother and wife found herself all alone with a maniac. And one man finally found closure. What a phenomenal episode!

Dark as this episode was, there was plenty of comedy to keep us laughing along the way.The boys sure brought the laughs this week. Is Dan dying? Is Brooke Ok? This week's 'One Tree Hill' was insane! The March 14 episode of One Tree Hill was the most action-packed hour of the series. Dan (Paul Johansson) put his plan into action to try and save Nathan (James Lafferty), while Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) was just trying to stay alive. Brooke found Karen's Cafe completely trashed and exchanged a few not-so-nice words with Tara (Chelsea Kane). Then the game of cat and mouse began! Xavier caught Brooke alone in a parking garage and chased her down, threatening to kill her. I didn't really understand where he was going with most of the words coming out of his mouth, but the knife in his hand was what got my attention. He finally got Brooke cornered and was just about to kill her... when Tara showed up with a taser! Dead or not, I'm hoping this »
