Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Animation's CinemaCon presentation took place on April 23rd at Caesars Palace, with DreamWorks Animation showing off 25 minutes of footage from Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted followed by 15 minutes from Rise of the Guardians. Chris Rock took the stage to help promote the third Madagascar film, a movie he calls the best of the lot thus far. Claiming Madagascar 3 is very Salvador Dali/very David Lachapelle-ish, Rock said this third film is the "sprinkles and whipped cream" atop the Madagascar ice cream.
Rock had the audience cracking up when he boldly announced Spider-Man and Batman have nothing on Madagascar 3, joking those films and the rest of this summer's box office releases are "crap" and promising Madagascar 3 will be the biggest hit of the summer. And although I'm embargoed from talking about the footage, I've got to say the 3D was impressive and the »

There was definitely a moment during my First Date with Miguel when I felt like the cameras weren't there.
No, no, not in the "sparks were flying and everything around us was a blur" way, but rather it was the comfort and engagement in our conversation that made me feel like we really were just a pair heading out for some Japanese BBQ in the middle of the workweek. You know, as one often does.
Miguel, who hails from San Pedro, Calif. (which also claims his musical polar opposite, Mike Watt, as one of its citizens), first gained traction when he dropped the single, "All I Want is You," featuring J. Cole. Smooth, sexy and downright infectious, it solidified his talents as a crooner and he was recently featured on Wale's smash, "Lotus Flower Bomb."
But of course, we didn't discuss any of that.

Justin Timberlake must have really dug deep to find his inner piano rock star, because after his Elton John impersonation in a David Lachapelle video, the rock legend himself sought Timberlake out personally to portray himself for his biopic. The British singer informed the Los Angeles Times last month that Timberlake is "No. 1" on his wish list because he did such a "superb" job playing him in a David Lachapelle video for "Rocket Man." While Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish are still in search of a director and a script, the vision is still there with the star already in the works.
E! interviewed Furnish and even though nothing is set in stone and no details have been confirmed, choosing the right director may influence the casting of their #1 choice actor

Justin Timberlake is in active "conversation" with Sir Elton John about playing him in a biopic. The 'Rocket Man' singer's husband David Furnish has confirmed it is looking increasingly likely the 'Social Network' star will sign on, but they are currently seeking a director that all those involved with the project are comfortable with. He told E! News: "We're search for a director. It's important we all share the same vision. "Elton and Justin have had conversations about it. Justin also says he has to feel comfortable with the director and the director has to be comfortable with Justin. The chemistry is really important. "There's no race to make this. We're just going to take the time to make it right." Should Justin officially sign up to the project, it would not be the first time he had played Elton - he previously portrayed him in the David Lachapelle-directed »

A month ago, word was that Justin Timberlake was #1 on Elton John's wish list to portray the "Benny and the Jets" singer in an upcoming biopic. Now, it sounds like Jt is all but signed up for the role, but is awaiting word on a director before he fully commits.
According to E! Online, John's husband and producing partner, David Furnish, said the two music stars have been in serious discussions about the project.
"We're searching for a director," Furnish said. "It's important we all share the same vision ... Elton and Justin have had conversations about it. Justin also says he has to feel comfortable with the director and the director has to be comfortable with Justin. The chemistry is really important. »

For years David Lachapelle was the go-to photographer for the world's biggest stars. But in 2006 he ditched fashion for fine art. As an exhibition of his work opens in London, he talks to Elizabeth Day about death, divas and decadence
David Lachapelle is running late. Though the term "running" doesn't quite describe it. "He's sleeping," says one of Lachapelle's assistants, peering at me languidly through those ironic-retro spectacles that seem to be de rigueur for arty types. "People are working on it." Working on what, I wonder? Getting him out of his pyjamas?
The assistant explains that Lachapelle flew in from his home on the Hawaiian island of Maui yesterday and is still jet-lagged. This is why we've had to change the interview location at the last minute and congregate in the lobby of a chintzy five-star hotel just off Sloane Square in London. Besides, he's not that used to »

It's been nearly 30 years since Daryl Hannah rocked the tail fin in the movie "Splash." But it appears that what's old is new again as both singer Katy Perry and teen bride Courtney Stodden have decided to go mermaid.
Stodden, who is best known for parading around pumpkin patches in barely there outfits and marrying men three times her age, dressed up as the mythological aquatic creature in a commercial for FreeCreditScore.com. The ad is full of double entendres and other things you would expect from Stodden.
The recently-single Perry donned a much more elegant and bejeweled mermaid outfit as part of an ad campaign for Ghd haircare products. Unlike the FreeCreditScore ad, which looks like it was shot with a cell phone camera, Perry's picture was snapped by famed fashion photographer David Lachapelle.
Here's Courtney's ad...

Katy Perry has appeared in a new advert for hair company ghd. The 'One That Got Away' singer, who is a global ambassador for the hair straightener manufacturer, posed for celebrity photographer David Lachapelle for the campaign. In the picture - advertising ghd's new hair dryer - Perry is seen in a full mermaid costume and has long purple hair. She rests on a wooden post coming out of a body of water with a bridge in the background. "David Lachapelle made the set amazing," Perry told Marie Claire of the July 2011 shoot. "The Little Mermaid" has nothing on Katy Perry.
The 27-year-old singer was transformed into a glamourous version of the mythical sea creature in a new ad for ghd's Air hairdryer, shot by renowned photographer David Lachapelle.
Although she's currently sporting some bright blue locks, we have to say we love the cotton candy-colored tresses she rocked both in this ad and last fall.
Katy is no stranger to both wacky and glamourous looks and she loved the concept behind the shoot.
"David Lachapelle made the set amazing," she told Marie Claire. "It was fun -- I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It's as if Lisa Frank had done 'The Little Mermaid'." The singer did admit she's "such a fan of Disney movies," and is considering keeping the mermaid costume as an option for next Halloween.

Elton John calls Jt '#1 on my wish list' to portray him in upcoming biopic.
We may not be 100 percent sure of his current relationship status, but we can confirm that Justin Timberlake is getting very serious with Elton John.
We think. In response to John's claims that Timberlake is "#1 on my wish list" to portray the singer in an upcoming biopic — he told the Los Angeles Times that Jt's portrayal of him in the David Lachapelle-directed "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore" video was "superb" — Timberlake is apparently "seriously" weighing the role, according to E! Online.
"Justin is taking it very seriously," a source "close to the singer" told E!'s Ted Casablanca. "He's working with his people to figure out exactly how to respond."
Casablanca also writes that "a very official response will be coming from Camp Timberlake momentarily," though, at press time, »

The singer's choice of lead actor for his forthcoming biopic may be smarter than we realised …
Elton John has said that he wants Justin Timberlake to play him in a film of his life, after performing so convincingly in the David Lachapelle video of This Train Don't Stop There Anymore. An announcement is expected soon. Hilarious! But, hang on, take a look at the closely cropped hair, the merest hint of a shallow quiff, the square line of chin, generous forehead, solid-framed glasses, lips barely parted in a smile. Suddenly we need help working this out. So, it's Timberlake on the right, right?

International superstar Elton John recently told the L.A. Times that he would very much like Justin Timberlake to portray him in a planned biopic of his life. The singer told the paper, "Number one on my wish list is Justin Timberlake."
John continued, "He played me before in a David Lachapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and it was superb."

Although he is still touring the world, Elton John's life story is set to be chronicled in a feature film, and the British superstar has another singing sensation he hopes will play him when the project finally begins shooting.
"No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David Lachapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and was superb," Elton told the Los Angeles Times' Sunday edition.
Sir Elton said details of the project are coming shortly, but fans shouldn't expect the movie to be an ordinary look at an extraordinary man's life ...

Last September we got word that iconic chart-topping musician Elton John was looking to team up with screenwriter and playwright Lee Hall for Rocketman, a project described as a biographical musical fantasy about the flamboyantly bespectacled singer and songwriter. The two last teamed up for a Broadway adaptation of the film Billy Elliot, and now John says an official announcement regarding this fantastical biopic should be expected very soon. While it's not clear if that announcement will simply be officially revealing the project itself, John already has an idea of who should bring himself to life on the big screen. Speaking with The La Times (via THR), John says, "No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David Lachapelle video of ‘Rocket Man’ and was superb.” For a taste of that surprisingly fantastic casting, which actually happened a few years before Timberlake's acting »

The Rocket Man has spoken. Elton John says he has the perfect person in mind to play him in an upcoming movie about his life, which his husband David Furnish recently called "very extraordinary and unique." "No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David Lachapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and was superb," John, 64, tells the Los Angeles Times. There has been speculation about who might play John in the biopic - titled Rocketman - with Scottish actor James McAvoy recently rumored to be the frontrunner. HollywoodNews.com: Justin Timberlake is apparently now a high in demand actor as one musical star wants him to play him in his biopic.
Elton John recently admitted that Timberlake is his number one choice to play a younger him, states UsMagazine.com. “He played me before in a David Lachapelle video of ‘Rocket Man’ and it was superb,” John commented about Timberlake (although ‘Rolling Stone’ pointed out that it was actually a video for ‘This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore’).
But apparently he might want to get Timberlake on board soon as the film is in the works: “It’s just going to be a matter of getting the script exactly the way we want it… then we’ll start trying to cast and plan.”
