Patti Labelle Shares the Recipe for Her Internet-Famous Sweet Potato Pie
This is the year to take your holiday pie game to the next level—with a little help from Patti Labelle.

Since her sweet potato pies first debuted at Walmart in 2015, they’ve been flying off the shelves, thanks in part to YouTube star James Wright Chanel’s viral ode to them. Now, she’s sharing her tried-and-true recipe for People’s exclusive series My Food Story.

“Sweet potato pie is in my blood, my mother and father and all of my great aunts, great grandmother and everyone grew up on sweet potato pie,” she says.

Kevin Campbell Joins 20th Century Fox Film as Marketing Co-President

Veteran marketing executive Kevin Campbell has been named co-president of worldwide theatrical marketing at 20th Century Fox Film.

Campbell, who previously held executive marketing roles at Fox from 2005-08, rejoins the studio after most recently serving as head of marketing for Amblin Partners. His appointment will become effective before the end of this year.

Campbell will work with Pam Levine, who became head of marketing last year.

“Kevin’s leadership will be instrumental as he collaborates closely with Pam on both shaping and implementing the vision we have for our studio’s marketing group,” said Stacey Snider, chairman and CEO of Twentieth Century Fox Film. “Kevin has had extensive experience working with some of the best filmmakers in our business; and with some of Hollywood’s best studio marketing groups. Patti Labelle and Brandy Norwood have both signed on for multi-episode arcs on the music drama, it was announced Thursday.

John Blackwell Jr, Prince’s Former Drummer, Dies at 43

John Blackwell, Jr., longtime drummer for Prince, died Tuesday after being diagnosed with a brain tumor one year ago. He was 43. His passing was announced on his Instagram page by his wife, Yaritza, who thanked fans and friends for their support. A native of Columbia, South Carolina and an alumnus of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Blackwell joined Prince’s band, The New Power Generation, in 2000. The two collaborated for 15 years, during which time Blackwell also performed alongside other pop stars like Justin Timberlake and Patti Labelle.
