Fullmetal Alchemist Trailer Arrives with English Subtitles

21 April 2017 6:16 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

If you aren't already excited about the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie, or if you aren't aware that it is happening, this trailer may just do the trick. This latest teaser showcases the same footage we saw in a previous sneak peek, but this one comes with English subtitles, providing some much needed context for those less familiar with the material. Or even for those who know the material, but aren't fluent in Japanese.

Warner Bros. released the trailer online recently and it gives us a great, though brief, look at the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, which is set to hit theaters later this year. The short preview packs in a whole bunch of quick moments, including a great shot of Alphonse in action, as well as giving us a good sense of the anime style and what we can expect in terms of the general narrative. A lot of longer trailers »

Attack on Titan U.S. Remake Planned with Fantastic Beasts Producer

17 January 2017 4:32 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Warner Bros is negotiating to acquire the big screen rights to Attack on Titan, for a U.S. remake that will be shepherded by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them producer David Heyman. It isn't clear how far along these negotiations are, or if the studio is eyeing a director and/or screenwriter to bring this project to life quite yet. The studio has previously tried to bring the iconic manga Akira to the big screen, but that adaptation languished over a number of years. It remains to be seen if this film will move forward with more speed and efficiency.

Deadline reports that the movie will be an adaptation of the two-part Japanese manga adaptation that debuted in 2015. The first movie earned $25.7 million in Japan, although the second movie dropped significantly, earning just $13.2 million, hitting theaters just one month later. Both films were released in the U.S. »
