Canadian-born Jack Kruschen entered films after years on the stage, and became a dependable character actor both in movies and on television. Often cast as ethnic comedy relief, Kruschen occasionally landed a role as a villain, but was more often the volatile, emotional Italian or Jewish neighbor patriarch. In 1973, he starred in an unsold comedy pilot for CBS called "Keep the Faith" a revised version of the previous year's pilot about the comedic conflicts that arise between a young and old rabbi. This version co-starred Todd Sussman and Marge Raymond.
