This weekend at Comic-Con, I attended the Sid and Marty Krofft Panel – A Look at the Past, Present, and Future moderated by Chris Gore (G4’s Attack of the Show). To millions and millions of people, Sid and Marty Krofft are geniuses known for their ambitious vision and unique brand of fantasy programs with high-concept plots, unusual protagonists and low budget effects. The sibling team of television producers has produced quality family entertainment for over 40 years and they’re responsible for a number of memorable classic 70’s shows including Land of the Lost that featured elaborate sets and fanciful characters and is still watched to this day. As Comic-Con grows closer, more and more announcements get made about celebrity appearances, autograph signings, giveaways and, of course, the ever popular toy exclusives. This year, Huckleberry (booth# 3449) has partnered up with Toddland to bring lots of merchandise and meet-and-greets to the convention floor. Hit the jump for details on their ParaNorman character figures and a Sid & Marty Kroftt signing. Huckleberry will be unveiling their character figures from the upcoming Focus Features/Laika film ParaNorman, in theaters on August 17th. The eight-figure line encompasses all of the core characters and a number of spooky zombies, and as an advance preview, there will be four limited edition figures (with each retailing for $20, and a set of four priced at $60) available as exclusives. Following their Hall H panel on Friday, July 13th, which will give a behind-the-scenes look at the new stop-motion-animation feature, the filmmakers will be in the booth for a signing at 3:30pm. »
