This weekend at Comic-Con, I attended the Sid and Marty Krofft Panel – A Look at the Past, Present, and Future moderated by Chris Gore (G4’s Attack of the Show). To millions and millions of people, Sid and Marty Krofft are geniuses known for their ambitious vision and unique brand of fantasy programs with high-concept plots, unusual protagonists and low budget effects. The sibling team of television producers has produced quality family entertainment for over 40 years and they’re responsible for a number of memorable classic 70’s shows including Land of the Lost that featured elaborate sets and fanciful characters and is still watched to this day. The panel featured footage from the never-before-seen network presentation reel for Land of the Lost while it was still in development. In addition, there were two special surprise guests: David Gerrold, who wrote the first episode of Land of the Lost and is »

Showrunner Survey: Mike Kelley on Why Revenge's Emily Thorne Should Compete on The Bachelorette

24 June 2012 7:00 AM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

With Emmy nominations right around the corner, Revenge executive producer Mike Kelley indulges our nosiest TV questions, including where he’d really like to see Emily Thorne and Victoria Grayson duke it out. Read the latest in Vulture's Showrunner Survey series to hear his thoughts on the cardinal sin most teen dramas commit, and which dead soap opera character he misses most. What's the first TV show you remember being obsessed with? That’s a tough one. Think it’s too close to call in the nighttime drama category, so l’ll go with the 1970s Saturday morning classic Sid and Marty Krofft’s H.R. Pufnstuf. Years ago, I actually had a chance to meet Puff co-creator Sid Krofft. He’s as delightfully oddball, spacey and brilliant as the kooky masterpiece he and his brother dreamed up. »
