While the first cover featured the Rebel heroes, this next one gives us a new look at the main villain of Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn). We don't know a whole lot about this character, aside from the fact that he's desperate to please The Emperor, and sees Vader and an obstacle on the road to him reaching his full potential in The Empire. Speaking of the Dark Lord of the Sith, with 3 more covers to go there's a decent chance he'll be spotlighted. Star Wars: Rogue One Reshoots Wrap; Tony Gilroy's Involvement Explained

4 August 2016 11:45 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Back in May, a report surfaced that the first Star Wars spinoff Rogue One was "in trouble," with Disney ordering extensive reshoots to get the film ready for its December 16 release date. The reshoots were confirmed shortly after the report, with star Mads Mikkelsen assuring fans that there is nothing to worry about, and these reshoots are just a "final polish." Today we have word from Riz Ahmed (Bodhi Rook), who revealed in a new interview that the reshoots have been completed, while another report reveals that new writer Tony Gilroy took on a much bigger role than originally stated for these reshoots.

Back in June, it was widley reported that writer Tony Gilroy was brought on to rework the Rogue One script, and that the reshoots would last roughly four or five weeks between June and July. The plan is reportedly to lock picture in August with scoring to begin in September, »

‘Star Wars: Rogue One’: Tony Gilroy Supervising Final Edit, Heavily Involved With Reshoots

3 August 2016 7:50 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

As the “Star Wars” universe readies to expand out to include this year’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” — the first of a series of newly minted anthology films — rumors have continued to persist that the Gareth Edwards feature has been plagued by production problems. Back in June, word hit the wire that the film was undergoing a series of reshoots to remove a “dark tone,” with help from filmmakers like Christopher McQuarrie and Tony Gilroy. At the time, it was estimated that as much as 40% of the film would need to be reshot in order to accomplish the rumored aims.

Those rumors, however, were swiftly shot down, most notably in a long-form piece from Entertainment Weekly that emphasized that the reshoots had always been planned and were not in any way meant to “save the film.” McQuarrie, who did contribute to earlier drafts of the film’s screenplay, »

Rogue One Gets First Star Wars TV Spot

2 August 2016 12:54 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

It feels like we are still calming down to some degree from the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens last December. But in just four short months, Disney and Lucasfilm will be giving us another, brand new Star Wars movie in the form of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We have still only seen one trailer for the movie, but today the first official TV spot for Rogue One has surfaced.

There really isn't any new footage in this 30-second TV spot to speak of. For the most part, it is a very condensed version of the first Teaser that was released for Rogue One back in April. On the plus side, this does mean that Lucasfilm is ramping up their marketing campaign for the movie and that we will likely be seeing some new footage for the movie soon. We know Darth Vader is in this movie, »
