'Sin City' And 'Carnivale' Actor Nick Stahl Reported Missing

16 May 2012 1:30 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Update: Has Stahl been found? "He does this sometimes," an eyewitness who claims he recently saw the actor told E! News. "He'll be back."

After not hearing from him for nearly a week, the wife of "Sin City" and "Carnivale" actor Nick Stahl has filed a missing persons report with the Lapd, mentioning that he was last seen on May 9 in Los Angeles's Skid Row. This discouraging news comes right after other worrisome developments, including the separation between the married couple, court-ordered drug tests prior to seeing his 2-year-old daughter, and a minor offense involving the thespian skipping a cab fare.

We don't normally do these kinds of stories -- it runs into iffy, questionable territory regarding privacy, is psuedo-gossipy and the sympathy can seem forced -- but this writer in particular is a huge fan of the artist who still hasn't gotten the project/part/spotlight he deserves.

‘Carnivàle’ Creator Premieres ‘Bxx: Haunted’ on Web

22 February 2012 5:18 PM, PST | Destroy the Brain | See recent Destroy the Brain news »

Paranormal horror may not be anything new. If anything, it is becoming a over-saturated sub-genre. However, what the creator of HBO’s Carnivàle, Daniel Knauf, has in mind is what might be the future of storytelling. He has created a video explaining the process but if you take the voyeuristic nature of the Paranormal Activity films and turn it up to 11, you might get something like Bxx: Haunted.

This will only be viewable if you get an invite to watch. They are granting views via their website for up to 5000 invites. After that, they will contact you with the actual air date. While the video above and from what I have read, it will launch this Friday, February 24th yet the invite that I received says different. Either way, this looks very interesting and it is free, so it will either be something that will spread over the internet like wildfire or an interesting experiment. »

A Teaser Trailer Arrives for Daniel Knauf's Bxx: Haunted

20 January 2012 11:51 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

In the era of Sopa and Pipa, where corporations fight to protect their creative property, some creators have lost the ability to play in the worlds they have created because of deals with those same corporations. One such creator is Daniel Knauf, who brought us the amazing and much missed world of "Carnivale". HBO owns that show and everything surrounding it, leaving Knauf unable to bring closure to the tale or shop it to other sources for continuation.

This left Knauf driven to express himself in ways that he could own 100%. Having long been a Netizen, he was familiar with the potential power of the Net as a storytelling tool.

We now have his first foray into Internet creativity, a project called Bxx: Haunted. Far from a traditional film, Bxx: Haunted is an entirely new form of cinematic storytelling, leveraging the technology of the Internet. Shot over 48 hours using dozens of cameras, »
