ITV has commissioned a new consumer programme Big Box, Little Box.

The show will see British families testing a range of products over the space of three days, contributing funny and honest reviews for the cameras.

"We've all struggled with that new gadget or time-saving device - not just reading the instructions and trying to get the thing to work, but sometimes just getting onto the packaging," said ITV's Director of Factual Richard Klein, who commissioned the show. "Now you can sit back and let others read the manual for you.

"In an age when gadgets and devices dominate our lives more than ever, Big Box Little Box is a wry and warm take on how the British family copes with the modern world when it enters their living rooms."

The factual entertainment series will be comprised of six half-hour shows.

ITV recently announced that it is to revive fictional detective Maigret, »
