– Fox Searchlight has bought the rights to “The Spy With No Name,” an ebook written by Jeff Maysh and published by Amazon Kindle Single, Deadline reports. Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert of Emjag Productions will produce alongside “Argo” executive producer David Klawans.

The true story centers on Erwin van Haarlem, a Cold War secret agent who stole the identity of a Dutch man whose mother had given him up for adoption. The Communist spy pretended to be Johanna van Haarlem’s long lost son for 11 years before being caught.

Amazon spring 2017 pilots include Richard Madden drama

Streaming giant’s slate also includes comedy from creator of Gilmore Girls.

Amazon has announced its 2017 pilot slate, which includes space drama Oasis, with Game Of Thrones star Richard Madden, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, a comedy from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Five pilots will debut on 17th March in the UK, Us, Germany, Austria and Japan.

Customer reviews will help determine if the pilots are turned into a series.

The Legend of Master Legend (half-hour)

A dark comedy about the life of a homemade superhero whose mission is to protect the people of Las Vegas from evil doers. Amazon Sets 2017 Pilot Season Lineup With Projects From Amy Sherman-Palladino, ‘Game of Thrones’ Actors

Amazon’s 2017 pilot season will kick off on March 17, Variety has learned.

The streaming service will put up five pilots — two hourlongs and three half-hours. One of the hourlongs, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” comes from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino; the other, “Oasis,” boasts both Richard Madden and Mark Addy from “Game of Thrones.” Amazon is also entering the adult animated space with “The New V.I.P.’s” from “The Life and Times of Tim” creator Steve Dildarian.
