‘Boone: The Bounty Hunter’ Review

Stars: John Hennigan, Osric Chau, Kevin Sorbo, Spencer Grammar, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Jonathan Lipnicki, Dominque Swain, Lorenzo Lamas, Richard Tyson, Jane Park Smith | Written by John Hennigan, Josh Burnell, Franco Movsesian, Jonathan Perkins | Directed by Robert Kirbyson

Boone, a fame-seeking reality show Bounty Hunter (think a douchier version of TV’s Dog the Bounty Hunter) gets carried away in his role and tries to bring down a drug lord and his empire. But when his quest for accolades ends with a bounty on his own head, Boone learns that serving justice is a heck of a lot more dangerous than just ratings.

Apparently conceived by star John Hennigan some five years ago, Boone: The Bounty Hunter has been a labour of love for the wrestler and actor ever since, with Hennigan eventually funding the film himself – no doubt through the money he earned wresting for the likes of Lucha Underground

Snowmen Review

Snowmen is loosely based on writer-director Robert Kirbyson's childhood in Canada and where he faced among other things, a parent dealing with leukaemia. However, thanks to a little creative licensing, we have the story of Billy (Bobby Coleman), a small town tween loving wintertime and playing in the snow with his pal Lucas (Christian Martyn).

Exclusive: Ray Liotta Talks Snowmen

Exclusive: Ray Liotta Talks Snowmen
Ray Liotta talks Snowmen, shooting in Park City, Utah, working with the kids in this movie, The Iceman, and more

I shouldn't have to write any sort of detailed background info paragraph about the legendary Ray Liotta. If you've been following cinema in any capacity in the past 25 years, Ray Liotta's performances should be embedded in your brain somewhere. While he's known for his more rugged characters, the actor definitely likes to mix it up, and his latest film, Snowmen, is a testament to that mentality. Ray Liotta portrays Reggie Kirkfield, a used car salesman known for his flamboyant TV commercials and showmanship. But, at home, he's a much different man, trying to provide for his family while his young son (Bobby Coleman) goes through cancer treatments. I recently had the chance to speak with Ray Liotta over the phone about Snowmen, which arrives in theaters October 21. Here's what he had to say below.

Tribeca fest attracts 2nd-largest crowd ever

New York -- The ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival, which concluded Sunday, attracted some 410,000 visitors, the second-highest attendance figure in its eight-year history.

The number includes an estimated 300,000 attendees at the free Tribeca Family Festival Street Fair and Tribeca/Espn Sports Day held May 1. Around 94,000 people attended the 496 in-theater screenings and events, dropping from a high of 203,000 in 2006 as screenings have slowly been pared back from more than 800 that year.

But one Tribeca figure that hasn't yet been revealed could have the biggest implications for audiences, sales and distribution at other festivals: the number of $45 Premium passes sold for the inaugural Tribeca Film Festival Virtual. The weeklong online program, overseen by fest executive director Nancy Schafer and recently appointed Tribeca Enterprises chief creative officer Geoff Gilmore, streamed eight world and North American premiere features from the fest's lineup, plus shorts, panels and other video content.

Only 5,000 passes were made available
