Whatever they're putting in Jay Carney's birthday cake, I want some. During a gaggle aboard Air Force One today, the just-47 White House Press Secretary woke up a sleepy press corps with a rant about fact-checking Republican talking points that, relatively speaking, nearly veered into Sam Kinison territory. Quoting from a recent MarketWatch commentary, Carney told the press "do not buy into the Bs" about the Obama spending record, and that "doing so is a sign of sloth and laziness." »

The Game of Thrones Round Table has returned - and do we have a lot to discuss!
On "What is Dead May Never Die," viewers met a couple new characters; watched as Theon made a life-altering decision; saw an especially soft side to Sam; and observed, once again, Tyrion in all his awesomeness.
Join TV Fanatics Matt Richenthal, Carissa Pavlica, Dan Forcella and Eric Hochberger now as they relive the episode's best, worst and most memorable moments...

What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: Gotta go with Cersei's complete and utter breakdown at having her daughter sent away. The Queen Regent coming to grips with what she has created in Joffrey is almost enough to make me feel bad for her. Almost.
Carissa: When Brienne took off her helmet and revealed her gender. I love a good ass-kicking female.
Dan: My favorite had to be when Adam »

My, my. Look at you, Game of Thrones. You’re practically all grown up, and you’re not that far into season two yet.
Yes, of course I’m going to clarify that statement. One of my biggest complaints about the show’s inaugural season was the pacing, particularly in the first half. It was a breathless and exhausting dash through the “greatest moments” of the book, and a lot of interplay (which is dangerous in a story that is all about what people aren’t saying or doing) got lost in between the race to show you the big set pieces or cooler character moments. Its frantic storytelling hooked people, but also terrified those who hadn’t read the book and felt they weren’t getting what they should be.
Season 2 is, I think, quickly establishing itself as a vast improvement. It has the advantage of having a set stage, »

Some were huge in their day, with hit records, popular movies and roles on top TV shows. But we haven’t seen them much lately — or for years. Here’s what they’ve been up to recently.
Sam Jones
The onetime Playgirl centerfold and star of Flash Gordon (1980) went on to star in 1986’s My Chauffer and the 1987-88 TV series The Highwayman. While starring roles were hard to come by, Jones occasionally appeared in minor TV and movie roles up until 2007. He is reportedly now the CEO of a security company providing protection for high-profile clients all over the world.
For those too young to know of her, think Shakira’s dance moves and Sofia Vergara’s sexy comic timing — in one person. Known for her trademark “Cuchi-Cuchi” and her frequent Love Boat and Tonight Show appearances in the ’70s and ’80s, Charo, whose full name is Maria »

Sure, "Diner" is a landmark movie, one that launched numerous careers (including those of Kevin Bacon, Mickey Rourke, Ellen Barkin, and director Barry Levinson). But is it really the most influential movie of the last 30 years? Vanity Fair seems to think so. According to an article in the March 2012 issue, "Diner" -- released 30 years ago today, on March 5, 1982 -- is indirectly responsible for "Seinfeld," "The Office," "Pulp Fiction," and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin." Such writers as Nick Hornby, Stephen Merchant, and Judd Apatow acknowledge its impact on the way they write scenes that others omit, scenes were guys reveal what matters most to them by chatting over coffee about things that don't matter at all. Like its trivia-obsessed characters, "Diner" is full of unspoken tales beneath the surface. Even fans may not know how closely life imitated art in the alliances, rivalries, pranks, and power games that helped make the movie »

The Carrie Diaries will explore a young Miss Bradshaw as she discovers the love of her life, New York City. And it can't be NYC without a gay best friend, even if he doesn't know he's gay yet. The CW pilot cast Brendan Dooling in the role of Carrie's best friend. Austin Butler will play the love interest, presumably for Carrie.
In a little noticed bit in a December interview that's now making mainstream news, Rick Santorum says that if elected, he'd make sure that not only would we get a federal Constitutional amendment against marriage equality, it would nullify all existing same-sex marriage, which numbered 131,000 in the 2010 census. The family values crowd sure does like destroying families.
If you're my age, you owe a huge hunk of your childhood to Ralph McQuarrie, who passed away at age 82 this weekend. McQuarrie designed much of Star Wars, from Chewbacca to Darth Vader. »

After years of being in the spotlight for her personal issues and not her work, Lindsay Lohan bit the bullet and spearheaded her own comeback Saturday night by not only hosting "SNL," but poking fun at herself in the opening monologue. Whether it was her court-mandated ankle monitor, her sobriety, or her relationship with Sam Ronson, everything seemed to be fair game for the actress. And with surprise celebrity guests like Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm, it certainly made for a memorable opening.
Under the humor, though, there was an obvious sense of support both from the cast and the crowd. At no moment was it more evident than Kristin Wiig saying, "Everybody here believes in you. Everyone. We wouldn't have you back otherwise," only to be met by applause that went well beyond a response to a prompt light.

Dan Fogler has not had a wonderful movie career; ever since his first starring role in 2007′s Balls of Fury, he’s been typecast as the loud, annoying friend who generally makes a movie worse rather than better (Good Luck Chuck being a prime example, although nothing really could’ve saved that). It’s really a shame too because Fogler is a Tony Award-winning actor and he’s had a few bright spots (last year’s Take Me Home Tonight as well as the Sam Kinison screen test that has been floating around for years) that prove that he’s got the talent that few are giving him a chance to unleash.
Here’s hoping Fogler will get a fair shake as Deadline reports that the actor and Josh Duhamel have signed on to star in Scenic Route, written by Kyle Killen (The Beaver). The two will play best friends »

Michelle Obama and Miranda Cosgrove in iCarly Teaser
The best publicity a TV show could have is a special guest appearance by America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama, who is set to appear in iCarly‘s January 16th episode, appropriately titled “iMeet the First Lady.” Still, despite the presence of Michelle Obama, there’s still a teaser for the episode, which you can freely view below. It’s just a short minute from a scene in the episode where Carly and co. meet the First Lady for the first time. I just want to point out that SNL’s Taren Killam plays one of her bodyguards. That guy is funny.
In the teaser, the cast does their best to embarrass themselves in front of Michelle, but she’s pretty laid back about it. They are just kids after all, though she does like the sound of being called Your Excellency. »
