Gene Kiniski was born on November 23, 1928 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as Eugene Nicholas Kiniski. He was an actor, known for Paradise Alley (1978), Terminal City Ricochet (1990) and Double Happiness (1994). He died on April 14, 2010 in Blaine, Washington, USA.

Became professional wrestler after playing in the Canadian football League.
On Jan. 7, 1966, Kiniski defeated Lou Thesz to win the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Heavyweight Championship. Kiniski would hold onto the title until Feb. 11, 1969, when he lost to Dory Funk Jr.
