Perry King was born on April 30, 1948 in Alliance, Ohio, USA as Perry Firestone King. He is an actor and director, known for The Day After Tomorrow (2004), Class of 1984 (1982) and Bad (1977).

Trivia (13)

Ex-wife, Jamie Elvidge, was featured in the 1996 documentary Biker Women (1996). She works as a motorcycle journalist. Both she and Perry are avid motorcyclists.
By way of his grandfather, literary editor Maxwell Perkins, he descends from Senator Wm. Evarts, Roger Sherman, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and through Roger Sherman's grandfather, Roger Wellington, he descends from Edward I, King of England.
Graduated from Yale University with a degree in theatre, and then attended The Juilliard School, where he studied acting with John Houseman.
A Mount Union College on-campus house (Perry F. King Guest House) is named after his grandfather who was a graduate and benefactor of Mount Union. Perry King (the actor) grew up in the house, but his father (Dr. Robert King) donated the house to the college in 1981 with the understanding it would be named after his father, Dr. Perry F. King.

Auditioned for the role of Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). Although he did not get the part, he later won the role for the NPR radio adaptations of Star Wars (1981), The Empire Strikes Back (1983), and Return of the Jedi (1996).
Played fictional President Blake in The Day After Tomorrow (2004). Coincidentally he attended Yale at the same time as actual President Bush.
Played Richard Burgi's character, "Jim Ellison",'s father "William Ellison" in The Sentinel (1996) episode, The Sentinel: Remembrance (1998), although King is only ten years older than Burgi.
Is also a race car driver who won the 1986 Long Beach Grand Prix Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race.
Daughter Louise with Karen King. Louise is presently completing a surgical fellowship at Stanford University.
He regards his role in The Possession of Joel Delaney (1972) as the best part he ever had.
His frontal nude scene in "Mandingo" earned a 2-star rating from "The Bare Facts" - a printed guide to nudity in the movies.
Was born April 30, the same day (six years earlier) as his "Riptide" co-star Thom Bray.
