Tomb Raider Poster Unleashed with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft

Tomb Raider Poster Unleashed with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft
Warner Bros. has released a new poster for Tomb Raider, featuring Alicia Vikander as the iconic video game character Lara Croft. The poster is a decided improvement over the first Tomb Raider poster, which several fans called out on social media, due to a poor Photoshopping job on Alicia Vikander's neck, which lead to several parody posters. This new one-sheet likely won't have the same type of response, but it will be interesting to see how fans of the video game franchise react to this movie as a whole

It was confirmed last March that this movie adaptation is based on the current Tomb Raider video game series, which was launched in 2013, focusing on a younger Lara Croft as she just starts out as an adventurer. As expected, this movie also follows a similar story with Lara searching for her long-lost father. Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer,

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Finds New Director After Bryan Singer’s Firing

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Finds New Director After Bryan Singer’s Firing
Fox has tapped Dexter Fletcher as the new director of “Bohemian Rhapsody” to replace the fired Bryan Singer.

Production will resume next week in London. Fletcher’s directing credits include “Eddie the Eagle,” which Fox distributed, and “Wild Bill” along with acting credits on “Kick-Ass” and “Stardust.”

The studio made the announcement late Wednesday afternoon, two days after firing Singer under the “pay or play” provision of his contract. Fox did not elaborate on why it had fired Singer, but sources said that it was due to repeated failures to show up on the set.

Filming has been taking place in London with “Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek in the lead role as Freddie Mercury, the frontman for Queen. New Regency and Gk Films are the production companies.

Fox has not changed its plan to release “Bohemian Rhapsody” on Dec. 25, 2018. Sources have said that about two weeks of shooting remain.

Bryan Singer Accuses Fox of Refusing to Let Him Care for Sick Parent

Bryan Singer Accuses Fox of Refusing to Let Him Care for Sick Parent
Bryan Singer has accused Fox of refusing to give him time off to deal with health issues of one of his parents, which is why he says he was fired from Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

The director made the statement Monday evening through his attorney Andrew B. Brettler, several hours after Fox announced that he’d been terminated.

“‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is a passion project of mine,” Singer said. “With fewer than three weeks to shoot remaining, I asked Fox for some time off so I could return to the U.S. to deal with pressing health matters concerning one of my parents. This was a very taxing experience, which ultimately took a serious toll on my own health. Unfortunately, the studio was unwilling to accommodate me and terminated my services. This was not my decision and it was beyond my control.”

Singer also said that rumors that his departure was sparked by a dispute with Rami Malek, who portrays

Bryan Singer Reportedly Fired From ‘Queen’ Biopic

Some breaking news. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Bryan Singer has been fired from directing Bohemian Rhapsody, the biopic of rock group Queen. “Bryan Singer is no longer the director of Bohemian Rhapsody,” 20th Century Fox said in a statement.

Production was shut down recently after the sudden, “unexpected unavailability” of the director.

The Hollywood Reporter has more.

The decision reflected a growing clash between Singer and actor Rami Malek and was caused by Singer’s being missing from the set, necessitating the Dec. 1 production shut-down of the film in which Malek stars as Freddie Mercury, frontman of the rock group Queen, which has been shooting in London.

In announcing the shut down last week, producers Fox, New Regency and Graham King initially said filming was being suspended because of Singer’s “unexpected unavailability.”

Film Review: ‘Against the Night’

Film Review: ‘Against the Night’
“Against the Night” isn’t a terribly good movie — it’s mostly a patchwork of clichés, stock characters and low-voltage shocks culled from dozens of similar small-budget thrillers — but it isn’t an entirely useless one, either. In fact, one can easily image it serving as a film school teaching tool for students eager to learn how to make the most of limited resources while producing a first dramatic feature.

No kidding: The movie is almost entirely interiors, shot in a preexisting location (Philadelphia’s long-shuttered Holmesburg Prison) that presumably required little or no dressing to be suitably atmospheric. To provide some semblance of marquee allure, there is one recognizable supporting actor — Frank Whaley, who very likely was able to complete his performance in an afternoon. The other roles are filled by young unknowns who compensate with enthusiasm for whatever they may lack in polish.

Given that writer-director-cinematographer Brian Cavallaro’s resume includes several credits in reality
