Guillermo del Toro Talks More About Pacific Rim's Future

So Pacific Rim is poised and ready to become every fanboy's wet dream movie of the summer (we just cannot wait!), and director Guillermo del Toro had some interesting goodies to talk about in terms of the franchise's future.
"We’re been talking about the idea for [the sequel] and working on a pitch,” Del Toro tells Deadline. “And there will be a Mexican Jaeger! Having had two to three years pass from the first Pacific Rim to the second movie, we can also prepare a good video game, continue the graphic novel, and continue the mythology."
Legendary CEO Thomas Tull cautioned about getting too premature about sequel talk before the movie comes out. “We’d like to do it, but it’s up to the audience — ultimately we’ll have to see how it does,” Tull said.

With Man of Steel and Pacific Rim, Warner Bros. is going to have a great year for epic action films. I was equally excited for both of those films, and I just have to wait a little longer for Pacific Rim. The studio has released another featurette that explores the development of the massive robotic Jaegers featured in the movie. Director Guillermo del Toro wanted each one to have its own attitude and personality, and as you've seen, he definitely succeeded in that. The movie hits theaters on July 12th! Bring it on!

Although there are many great superhero films still to come, I feel as though this summer is offering many more exciting alternatives in terms of Big movies. None are bigger than Guillermo Del Toro’s robots vs. monsters smackdown Pacific Rim. The film sees our world gradually wiped out by huge beasts and our only hope is to create giant robots to fight back. These latest TV spots really concentrate on the action, and who can blame them? Epic battles on the big screen are one thing, but when the subjects fighting are also gigantic, it’s a whole different game of Dizzy Dinosaur altogether.
