“A Flying Jatt Is A Bonafide Desi Super-Entertainer” – Subhash K Jha

Starring Tiger Shroff,Nathan Jones, Amrita Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, K K Menon

Directed by Remo D’souza

It isn’t a bird. It isn’t a plane. And it’s definitely not Superman. Why must the desi super-hero behave like a country-cousin of his Hollywood counterpart?

Remo D’souza who makes indigenous films based on western concepts such as the dance-competition genre which he made into Abcd (it was actually Ka Kha Ga Gha), here turns the super-hero genre on its head…. And Remo has a ball coiling twisting twirling Tiger Shroff—we all know how mouldable he is-in a ball of helpless heroism.

Tiger Shroff is the light of this light-hearted take on super-heroism. The young dancer-fighter can take a joke on himself even if it shows him to be less than heroic. There is a whole chunk of satirical heroism in the narrative where Aman/Flying Jatt goes

Khoobsurat Movie Review

This review intentionally makes no comparison of Khoobsurat with its namesake which is a par excellence classic of Hrishikesh Mukherjee

When you have a larger than life personality offscreen you films will undoubtedly suffer from preconceived notions that may just hurt its chances with the audiences. Khoobsurat is likely to suffer this courtesy of its leading lady Sonam Kapoor. But having seen the film and having regard to Sonam’s off-screen persona, this film actually could not have suited a better lady. Shashanka Ghosh’s most commercial directorial till date ultimately the aims to leave you feeling happy and entertained and that is exactly what it is.

Milli (Sonam Kapoor) enters the lives of the Rathods as a mere physiotherapist who aims to nurse Rathod Senior (Aamir Raza Hussain) to health after a traumatic accident. However the eccentric, loud and bold Milli ultimately ends up doing more than just nursing

Disney Utv is bringing a Bollywood fairytale story to life again! A reimagining of the 1980 film starring Rekha, this version of Khoobsurat stars Sonam Kapoor. The film directed by Shashanka Ghosh releasing September 19th is a quirky, modern romantic comedy. We were able to catch Fawad Khan for a very quick but wonderful chat. Though we only had the chance to talk for a short time, the actor really took the time to give amazing answers. See what he had to say in this exclusive interview!

Did you always want to be an actor?

Wow! I think that everyone in some corner of their heart and at some point in time in their youth and during their childhood has fantasized that oh I wish I could be that character on screen.

Khoobsurat Music Review

Khoobsurat is Disney’s latest royal romantic comedy in collaboration with Anil Kapoor Films Co and Utv Motion Pictures. It is a remake of yesteryear Hrishikesh Mukharjee hit of the same name and stars Sonam Kapoor, Kiron Kher and Ratna Pathak in pivotal roles. It also marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani heavyweight Fawad Khan.

Khoobsurat features music by Sneh Khalwalkar (Gangs of Wasseypur), Badhshah and Armaan Malik with vocals from Sunidhi Chauhan amongst others.

The album begins with Engine Ki Seeti, a Rajastani folksy fusion dance number by Sunidhi Chauhan and Resmi Sateesh. It is a catchy number and Ikram Rajasthani’s quirky lyrics, paired with Resmi and Sunidhi’s enthusiastic renditions, take you on a wacky ride (pun intended). Khanwalker commands the brilliant amalgamation of musical arrangements.

Badshah’s Abhi To Party Shuru Huyee Hai shares a lot of similarities with former collaboration partner Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Khoobsurat and Raja Natwarlal to be released in Pakistan

Khoobsurat and Raja Natwarlal to be released in Pakistan
Apart from the fact that Khoobsurat and Raja Natwarlal come from the stable of Utv Disney, there is yet another common factor in both films. Both films have Pakistani actors playing the lead. While Khoobsurat will mark the debut of Fawad Afzal Khan in Bollywood, actress Humaima Malick will be debuting in this industry with Raja Natwarlal. While not many Bollywood films happen to release in our neighboring country Pakistan, these films hold a special significance in the minds of Bollywood lovers there since their local actors will be playing lead roles in these films. In fact, Fawad Khan is excited about the fact that his first Bollywood film will be releasing in his country. He also further mentioned that he would have been disappointed if Khoobsurat wouldn't have released there because he owes this to his fans who played a big role in making him the star that he is today in Pakistan.
