Liff Masterclass with Santosh Sivan

17 July 2014 11:00 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Santosh Sivan, one of India’s most celebrated cinematographers, has been praised for his emotionally engaging cinema and attention to detail. The masterclass hosted by the London Indian Film Festival was an exploration of his works, his inspiration, and the highlights of his career so far through a few chosen clips, and of course a wonderful combination of questions from DJ Nihal and the audience.

Santosh began the evening by sharing with us his earliest images; that of his grandmother who used to sing to paintings and they’d come alive, and thus paintings became his first visual learning language. This led onto further exploration of family influence. While Santosh attended a school dominated by students who were all aiming to be doctors or engineers, he always knew he would go into the arts and was encouraged by a strong family background in the arts, with a grandmother who taught »

Farah Khan Launches Mad About Dance Trailer

Bollywood director, choreographer and producer Farah Khan recently launched the trailer of the Saahil Prem’s M.A.D-Mad About Dance.

The event took place on Wednesday night at a multiplex in Andheri where the trailer was received with great enthusiasm from the crowd. Farah was present to show her support to Saahil, who she has known for a long time, and spoke highly of him and the film.

“The dance I see in M.A.D is probably something we have never seen on Indian screens before. What’s commendable is that Saahil has kept the dance form true to what it is. The film has not ‘Bollywood-ized’ any of the dance,” she said. “It’s an amazing thing that our country is starting to accept all cultural dances, all forms of dancing- not just Bollywood dance,” Farah added.

Farah has been involved in the making of the film since the very start. »

Official Statement: Aditya Chopra’s Next Directorial Film or the Cast Not Finalised

Seems the rumors and stories about Aditya Chopra’s next film are false. Though the director does plan to go back behind the camera in the director’s chair that is still very much in the early stages, in fact he does not even have a script yet. And sadly the rumor that Shah Rukh Khan would star in the project, well once again that seems to be untrue.

We have a statement from Yrf:

“There are stories out in some sections of the media about Aditya Chopra’s next directorial film with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, with misleading titles attributed to this as well. All of this is completely untrue and inappropriate.

While Aditya Chopra will definitely direct a film soon, as of now he has not finalised what he is going to be making next and has not even started writing the script. Anything at this »
