Albert Kesselring was born on November 30, 1885 in Marktsteft, Bavaria, Germany. He was married to Luise Anna Pauline (Liny) Keyssler. He died on July 16, 1960 in Bad Nauheim, Hesse, Germany.
Winston Churchill helped him avoid prosecution for war crimes after World War II.
He personally ordered the execution of 15 American prisoners of war in March 1944 under the Commando Order, for which General Anton Dostler was executed in December 1945.
