Secret Identity: Who Should Play The Governor On 'The Walking Dead' TV Series?

9 December 2010 2:46 PM, PST | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

If you thought Merle Dixon was bad, just wait until you get a load of the Governor.

In "The Walking Dead," the Governor is the ruler of an enclosed community known as Woodbury. But lest you think Woodbury is a sanctuary for all non-zombies, think again: it's a place where men are thrown into gladiatorial combat against the flesh-eating walkers, all in an effort to entertain the masses. That's just one of the many twisted and evil acts that the Governor is capable of, with other offenses including chopping off hands, raping women and molesting zombie children.

Needless to say, the Governor is bad people — but that also means he's compelling as all hell. The Governor's involvement in the "Walking Dead" TV series is not just a necessity, it's an inevitability. After the jump, check out five actors we can see as the ruthless villain.

A Legacy of His Own: A Doug Liman Profile (Part 2)

6 November 2010 3:36 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

With his latest film Fair Game released later this year, Trevor Hogg profiles the career of director Doug Liman in the second of a two part feature... read part one.

“I’ve always been a huge action film fan and a couple of friends of mine were in marriage therapy,” explained screenwriter Simon Kingberg as to the origins of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). “The way they were talking about it sounded kind of aggressive and mercenary. I just thought it would make an interesting template for a relationship inside of an action film.” Mayhem and chaos ensues when two married assassins are contracted to kill each other. “One of the ways that you write it is that all of the action sequences in the film have to be, in some form, expressions of where these characters are in their marriage… Instead of two people having a fight at the dinner table about the salt, »

Review: Fair Game

5 November 2010 9:00 AM, PDT | Slackerwood | See recent Slackerwood news »

Opening this election week, Fair Game is chock full of drama. Based on the true story of how sources in the Bush administration outed Valerie Plame as a CIA operative, the movie is a mix of genres: spy movie, family drama and political intrigue. I'd say that the film ranks up with All the President's Men as far as political pictures go. It shares the same drive and energy, and it gives an informative look into part of the mess the administration got itself into. Not only that, but the movie shows the strain this action put on Plame's marriage. Fair Game strikes a good balance in its depiction of politics/CIA elements with more domestic elements.

Fair Game kicks off in late 2001, with Plame (Naomi Watts) in Kuala Lumpur posing as Canadian Jessica McDowell (one of her many aliases). Not ten minutes later, we see her at dinner with friends back in DC, »

Valerie’s husband, diplomat Joe Wilson (Sean Penn), is drawn into the investigation to substantiate an alleged sale of enriched uranium from Niger. Did the Criminal Minds Spin-Off Unseat Medium on CBS?

27 October 2010 7:09 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Some bad news for Medium fans.  EW has revealed that CBS has cut the order for this season from 22 episodes down to 13.  The network assured EW that cancelation of Medium was not why CBS shortened the season.  Instead, they did so in order to make more room on CBS’ midseason line-up.

You may recall that CBS recently picked up all five of its new shows that debuted this season.  Doing so means there’s considerably less space in their prime-time lineup for midseason shows.  One of the midseason shows is currently titled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, and stars Oscar winner Forest Whitaker.  Whitaker, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan and Michael Kelly originally made a guest appearance on Criminal Minds in April 2010 in order to set up a possible spin-off show.   CBS has released some information about the new show.  There’s no annouced start date yet, but we’ll provide more information as CBS releases it. »

Universal Pictures changes even more release dates for 2010 and 2011 We reported back in April that Universal Pictures was making some changes to its release slate and it seems they're making even more changes. The studio has shifted some more release dates, including the always-adjusting Matt Damon film The Adjustment Bureau, which will now be released on March 4, 2011. Our earlier report revealed that the film was shifting from its July 30 release to September 17, and now it will be moved into next spring.

Moving into the September 17 slot is the horror film Devil, which will be pushed up from its February 11, 2011 release date to its new fall home. We also reported yesterday that the film has dropped its "The Night Chronicles" banner from the title.

The studio also announced a November 12 release date for Skyline, which stars Eric Balfour, Brittany Daniel, Donald Faison and David Zayas and a December 3 release date for Kids in America. »
