Post-miscarriage depression and alcohol abuse cost troubled actress Lisa Robin Kelly a role on That '70S Show, the star has revealed.
Kelly, who portrayed the promiscuous older sister of Topher Grace's character Eric Forman on the show for three years, abruptly left and show writers attempted to cover up her departure by suggesting she had been accepted to a beauty school.
She made a brief return to the comedy show during the fifth season, before being replaced by actress Christina Moore for the sixth.
Kelly has largely remained out of the spotlight since her departure from That '70s Show, but she hit the headlines in 2010 when she was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and again last week when she was taken into custody on a felony charge of corporal injury upon a spouse - allegations she denies.
The 42 year old has now opened up about the tragedy which sent her on a downward spiral, admitting she "lost everything" after the miscarriage.
In an interview on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Thursday, she said, "I had lost a baby, and as a result of that, I lost everything. I was abusing alcohol, which I no longer do.
"With That '70s Show I was guilty of the drinking problem and I ran."
Kelly claims she has been sober for three months and insists she had not been drinking or on drugs when she was arrested: "There is nothing that I was on or using at that time. My poor mother has to look at that picture (mugshot) of me that doesn't look like me, it's not me."
And she's determined to stand up for herself and fight the latest charges against her so she can work on rebuilding her career with a new movie called It Sucks To Be Me.
She added, "This is all a bunch of made-up stuff... I am not running from this. I have paid my dues and if I can make it through this, I can make it through anything." »

Actress Lisa Robin Kelly has taken to Facebook.com to protest her innocence following her arrest on Saturday.
The That '70s Show star was taken into custody in Los Angeles in the early hours of Saturday morning on suspicion of corporal injury against a spouse. She was later released after posting $50,000 (£31,250) bail and now Kelly has blasted her former lover for making false allegations.
In an excerpt obtained by the Christian Post, Kelly writes, "I did nothing to hurt John Michas. I cared. I made a big mistake to move (in) with someone I didnt (sic) know well and its (sic) all a big mess. I was simply trying to move on."
According to Kelly, she moved into Michas' home but he allegedly refused to contribute rent and later accused her of domestic violence.
She adds, "He (abandoned the) lease. Then went (to) police with fake pics. I just am so upset.my career is doing well and he made sure to ruin it."
And it appears Kelly was having problems with Michas well before the police got involved - six days prior to her arrest, the star took to her social networking account to say, "I'm having trouble with an ex. stalking and lying to ruin my integrity."
This isn't the first time Kelly has been in trouble with the law - she was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving in North Carolina in 2010. She was fined and placed on probation. »

Lisa Robin Kelly, 42, who played sister Laurie to main character Eric Forman (Topher Grace) on "That '70s Show," was arrested over the weekend on charges of felony corporal injury upon a spouse, reports TMZ. Kelly is pictured above in her 2012 mugshot, left, and in 2000, right.
Kelly was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. local time by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and was held on a $50,000 bond before being released four hours later.
This is not Kelly's first run-in with the law. She was arrested in North Carolina in 2010 and charged with a DUI that she pled guilty to, paying a fine and earning a sentence of one year unsupervised probation.

Nothing demonstrates the highs and lows of post-sitcom fame like these two stories from the weekend: Ashton Kutcher has signed on to play Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic (we totally called it, btw), and Lisa Robin Kelly was arrested for domestic violence. You’re forgiven if you don’t remember Kelly — she played Eric’s hot older sister Laurie, who once dated Kutcher’s Kelso, on That ’70s Show for four seasons. (She left the show amid rumors of drug problems, returned to the show for a few eps in season five and then was replaced by Christina Moore in season six.) Actually, the popular Fox sitcom, which is on every day and night in syndication, is one of those rare shows that was neither a curse nor a surefire launching pad for its stars. We thought we’d look back on how its stars faired after leaving the Formans’ basement behind for good, »
