21 November 2011 12:20 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

When Heather sent over the news last night about Clint Howard wrapping up a bit of filming on Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem, something rang a bell about him being involved so we did a little digging back at the source of all things Zombie (i.e., his Facebook page) and saw that he had indeed mentioned Howard's involvement, although not quite as you'd expect. Read on for the details.

Remember when we reported on the film-within-the-film Frankenstein Versus The Witchfinder? At that time Howard's name came up along with Udo Kier, Daniel Roebuck, and Camille Keaton, but not many details were known other than that Frankenstein Versus The Witchfinder was "a lost classic being screening at the Wiqz Freak-Fest" within the reality Zombie was creating for The Lords of Salem. Now we have the casting breakdown and a new bit of artwork showing the four stars:

Lords of Salem Art Presents Frankenstein vs. The Witchfinder

Something Rob Zombie clearly had fun doing, when he made Halloween II , was creating minor details or periphery characters. The drunken horror host for instance. Or the strip club owner turned town-favorite Frankenstein. Zombie used these creations on his blog to herald the arrival of his sequel, now the writer-director has begun his viral campaign for The Lords of Salem . Today, he posted - on his Facebook page - the poster for the faux fright flick Frankenstein vs. The Witchfinder . Zombie writes: Frankenstein Vs The Witchfinder ! Coming Soon to a theater near you! 10 of Horror's Most Ruthless Women

On October 14th, Lucky McKee's new film, The Woman (review here), adapted from the Jack Ketchum novel, will open in limited release. It's the story of a feral woman and the unfortunate family who attempts to civilize her. Believe me, this chick needs more than finishing school.

To help usher in The Woman, we thought it would be cool to compile a list of 10 of horror's favorite psycho chicks. Yeah, scream queens are one thing, but these ladies are of a completely different ilk. These ladies bring the pain. Here's the 10, in no particular order ...

Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie in House of 1000 Corpses/The Devil's Rejects)

Let's start off the list with psycho lady that's got it all. Baby Firefly is hot as Hell, horny, vicious and absolutely devoid of mercy. But on top of her obvious physical beauty and bloodletting skills, Baby tends to bring a »

Headlining a film schedule that includes Chillerama at 5pm and I Am Nancy (introduced by Nancy herself, Heather Langenkamp) at 7pm Inkubus is slotted at the prime 9pm position and will be introduced by director Glenn Ciano and producer Chad A. Verdi.

15 June 2011 4:03 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Rock and Shock 2011 may still be four months away, but the guest list is already taking shape quite nicely. As always, it's one hell of a delightful convention - especially for those of us in or around the Massachusetts area. About time we have something awesome happening in our neck of the woods.

This year the convention is happening from October 14 - 16 at the Dcu Center & The Palladium in Worcester, Ma. Guests include Robert Englund, Lance Henriksen, Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Sean Patrick Flanery (Saw 3D), Gary Busey, Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Amanda Wyss (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Barbara Magnolfi (Suspiria), Camille Keaton (I Spit on Your Grave), Kane Hodder (Jason himself!), and Sarah French as well as horror author Joe Knetter.

Pretty stellar lineup in this horror fan's opinion. Watch this space for more to come, »

Exclusive: Meir Zarchi Talks I Spit on Your Grave

I Spit On Your Grave director Meir Zarchi discusses his cult classic, the title change, his sequel idea and more

In 1978, writer-director Meir Zarchi released a movie entitled Day of the Woman, which was largely dismissed by critics. A few years later, it was re-released under the new title I Spit on Your Grave, and while it still didn't score any points with critics, it became a controversial movie that grew into a cult classic, which it still is to this day. I Spit on Your Grave was just released in brand new editions on Blu-ray and DVD on February 8 and I recently had the privilege of speaking with director Meir Zarchi on the phone about his experiences on this project. Here's what he had to say below.

When I watched the original again, I could be way off base here, but it almost seemed that Matthew was a Woody Allen knock-off character. »
