4 items from 2009 visits the set of "Venice"

4 November 2009 2:00 PM, PST | | See recent news »

Season one of the highly anticipated web series Venice was shot in Los Angeles last week, and was invited to the set to catch up with the hardworking and attractive cast. They are shooting primarily in, you guessed it, Venice Beach, with headquarters in a hipster hotel where we met in one of the suites.

As we've previously reported, a great cast for the series has been assembled. Series creator Crystal Chappell (Guiding Light) will play the lead, Gina, a designer and lesbian who has been out since her teenage years. Jessica Leccia (Chappell's former love interest on Guiding Light) will play Gina’s ex, and possibly future, girlfriend, Ani.

The details of their relationship have not been confirmed and everyone is very tight-lipped about plot specifics. We do know that Gina will hook up with attorney Tracy, »

As the World Turns Producer Preview Jack's Redemptive Road Trip

27 October 2009 12:25 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

What's a soap opera character to do after he accidentally kills his brother?

In the case of Jack Snyder on As the World Turns, he sets off on a redemptive road trip, making stops in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Manhattan and Greenville and meeting up with alumni such as Peter Parros and Lesli Kay.

In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, producer Chris Goutman previews this storyline. Here are a few excerpts:

On Jack's state of mind: This is about death and the stages of grief, but it’s also ultimately about healing. Jack is in an emotional tailspin, he’s in crisis, and Michael Park is doing fabulous work in this story. The first place Jack shows up is Philadelphia because he knows Brad once lived there. He goes to this bar - one of Brad’s old hangouts - and he runs into Ben.

Lesli Kay: Excited for Return to As the World Turns

26 September 2009 9:30 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Lesli Kay is returning to As the World Turns.

The actress will reprise her role as Molly in Oakdale, who she appeared occasionally as between 2002-2004. She'll also continue to portray Felicia on The Bold and the Beautiful, a unique situation that will involve commuting between Brooklyn and Los Angeles.

"It didn't get out until recently and I got a call from the makeup room at As the World Turns and it was just eruption and people were screaming in the background and everyone was really excited and that was a good feeling," Kay told Soap Opera Digest.

"The fans are amazing... I was having this really bad moment the other day... [but] all I have to do is go on the As the World Turns message boards and there are pages and pages of really cool things and people are speaking very nicely. People seem very excited."
