As announced early June, Shout! Factory, in collaboration with Hasbro Studios, will release The Transformers – The Movie 30th Anniversary Edition this fall 2016. This beloved animated feature is being remastered, and a full-range of bonus content and collectible packaging are currently in production. Now, Shout! Factory further celebrates the 30th Anniversary of this iconic movie with The Transformers – The Movie Limited Edition, 30th Anniversary Steelbook (2-disc Blu-ray™ set + Digital Copy), available at Amazon and in stores at select retail locations on September 13, 2016. Transformers: The Movie Blu-ray Finally Coming This September for 30th Anniversary

Hasbro Studios has entered into an agreement with Shout! Factory that will finally let you cross the phantom Transformers: The Movie Blu-ray release off your most wanted list.

The multi-year alliance grants Shout! Factory exclusive packaged home media (Blu-ray and DVD) and select digital channels rights to Transformers: The Movie. It's unclear how long the pact will last but at the very least it will deliver the long-awaited Transformers: The Movie Blu-ray in widescreen on September 13th, 2016 in conjunction with the film's 30th anniversary this year.

Transformers: The Movie wasn't a box office success but has turned into a cult classic over the years. It features the last role for the late Orson Welles as the planet-consuming Transformer Unicron, and also features other notable talents including Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Casey Kasem, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Frank Welker.

Shout! Factory, a multi-platform media company, and Hasbro Studios announced a strategic distribution collaboration to bring the iconic animated feature, Transformers – The Movie to the home entertainment marketplace in the U.S. and Canada. This full-length animated adventure boasts the voice talent of Orson Welles in his final role and an all-star voice cast that includes Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Casey Kasem, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Frank Welker.  The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos; and Hasbro’s Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Stephen Davis.

1986's Animated "Transformers" Hits Blu-ray

Shout! Factory and Hasbro Studios have announced a collaboration for a home video release of the iconic 1986 animated feature "Transformers: The Movie" in the U.S. and Canada.

Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Casey Kasem, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack, Frank Welker and Orson Welles in his final role lend their voices to the film with this Blu-ray offering a newly remastered and transferred in HD print from the original 35mm elements.

A full-range of bonus content and collectible packaging us currently in development and will be announced at a later date. The disc set will score a release on September 13th.

Any horror movie that starts off with a Serlingesque voiceover has my attention. And when you make your antagonist a hulking alien who looks like an eight foot tall Gene Simmons sans Botox with a proclivity for ripping off people’s heads And shooting laser beams out of his eyes, you are granted permission to take all my money. Welcome to The Dark (1979), a fun throwback to a time when audiences weren’t beholden of such things as logic and coherence to have a ripping drive-in experience.

But what audiences do always appreciate is a good cast, strong direction, and some solid jumps. The Dark answers the call though in such an unassuming way that before you could blink, it was gone from theatres (but hung around drive-ins for a bit, as horror films were wont to do).
