Giving Indian cinema a global platform, the 17th edition of the Iifa Awards took over the capital city of Madrid with an exceptional show.

This year the Iifa stage saw Bollywood’s most hilarious duo – the talented actors Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar – host India’s most awaited awards ceremony. The pair bowled over the audience and all of the industry members present, leaving them in fits of laughter with their amusing wisecracks, impeccable delivery and impressive on-stage chemistry.

The awards ceremony witnessed remarkable acts by Bollywood’s very own crème de la crème Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Tiger Shroff among others.

Has Parineeti Chopra been signed for Anees Bazmees Mubaraka

Readers may recall that we had reported about Mubaraka directed by Anees Bazmee. The film will see the first time pairing of Anil Kapoor along with his nephew Arjun Kapoor.

The latest buzz on the film is that Anees Bazmee has now signed the gorgeous and beautiful Parineeti Chopra to play the female lead, however there has been no confirmation about the same. If this buzz turns out to be true, then, besides Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor sharing the screen space for the first time, the film also witness yet another fresh pairing of Arjun Kapoor with Parineeti Chopra.

While repeated attempts to reach Anees Bazmee and the spokesperson of Parineeti Chopra to confirm the news proved futile, do keep watching this space for developments.

Anil Kapoor in the Hindi remake of Dutch film Everybodys Famous

Speculations have been rife about Anil Kapoor working with filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. And now it is being said that the film in question is the official remake of the Oscar nominated Dutch film Everybody's Famous (2000). This musical comedy has been tentatively titled Fanney Khan and it marks the Bollywood directorial debut of Atul Manjrekar. While Rakeysh Mehra will don the role of the producer, the other casting details are yet to be finalized. Everybody's Famous, directed by Dominique Deruddere stars Josse De Pauw, Eva van der Gucht, Thekla Reuten among others. Eros International and Soham Rockstar Entertainment to produce sequel to hit political thriller drama ‘Nayak’

Eros International, India’s leading global company in the Indian film industry, today announced the sequel to the 2001 hit political thriller, Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak, in association with Deepak Mukut’s Soham Rockstar Entertainment. Produced by Eros International and Deepak Mukut, the film will be scripted by noted script writer, K V Vijayendra Prasad who has written blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali.

Continuing from the earlier film, the sequel will be a political satire with romance as the backdrop. The sequel will also introduce fresh characters while retaining some of the old characters including the lead character, Shivaji Rao from Nayak.

Mirzya trailer to be launched at Iifa

We recently got a glimpse of the eternal love story of Mirza and Sahiban in the recently released teaser of Mirzya. While everyone is anxiously awaiting the trailer of the same, filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has decided to launch the same on a much bigger platform.

Nana Patekar joins Anil Kapoors 24 season 2

Earlier we had reported that after the success of the first season of 24, Anil Kapoor was hell-bent on making season 2 of the show for Indian television audiences. Now we hear that Nana Patekar who has previously worked with Anil on films like Parindaa, Welcome and Welcome Back will also be part of the show, rather uniquely. Confirming the same, a source close to Anil Kapoor said, "Yes Nana will be part of the second season of 24, however he will not be featuring in it as an actor. Lionsgate, Anil Kapoor plot 'Red' remake for India

The studio announced on Friday morning it is moving ahead with a Hindi-language version of the hit action comedy.

Kapoor will collaborate through his production vehicle Akfc Network and said the property contained key elements that appealed to the Indian market.

Red will mark Lionsgate’s second remake in India after Brothers. The film is based on a graphic novel and opened in 2010 via Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren.

It grossed $90.4m in North America and $108.6m internationally for just shy of $200m worldwide. A sequel in 2013 managed $53.3m in North America but still performed well internationally on $98.8m.

Akfc Network and Lionsgate are finalising the cast for the film, which is scheduled to begin production in August.

Lionsgate Teams With Anil Kapoor for Hindi ‘Red’ Remake

Lionsgate and Indian movie star Anil Kapoor are teaming on a Hindi-language remake of the successful 2010 action movie “Red.”

It’s the first film jointly produced by Lionsgate and Kapoor, operating through his production vehicle Akfc Network.

“Red” was produced and released by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label with an ensemble cast including Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban and Mary-Louise Parker. The film tells the story of a former black-ops agent, portrayed by Willis, whose peaceful life is threatened by a high-tech assassin and reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive and uncover his assailants.

“Red” generated $90 million in U.S. grosses and another $108 million internationally.

Eros International to bring in the second instalment of Nayak 2

The socio-political drama Nayak starring Anil Kapoor continues to gain popularity in the small screen as the film has managed to retain its fans through television. And now, after 15 years, a sequel to the same seems to be on the cards.

While there was several speculations about the second instalment, producer Deepak Mukut recently claimed that he has bought the rights of Nayak from Am Rathnam and is all set to collaborate with Eros International for the sequel.
