5 June 2014 2:30 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Michael Man is heading back towards crime, and we couldn’t be more intrigued by these new images for his techo-thriller called Cyber…or possibly Black Hat.

They’ve been filming under the working title of Cyber but these stills come with the rumoured hashtag #BlackHat as well, so keep an eye on that one. The two shots give us a look at Chris Hemsworth and co-star Holt McCallany, with one of these going up on the latter’s Twitter page. [Now seemingly removed - Studio?]

The director of The Last Of The Mohicans, The Insider, Ali and the mighty Heat has been off the radar since 2009′s Public Enemies but it’ll be interesting to see him return to the fray for this film that focuses on “American and Chinese forces who work together on a case of high-level computer hacking.” Mann has co-written the script with screenplay debutant Morgan Davis Foehl

Chicago Pd: Season One Ratings

30 January 2014 12:53 PM, PST | | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Despite mediocre ratings, NBC renewed Chicago Fire for a second year and the numbers have improved this season. How will spin-off Chicago Pd do? Will it be renewed or cancelled? Let's wait and see.

Chicago Pd follows the men and women who work at the Chicago Police Department's District 21. The cast includes Jason Beghe, Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer, Sophia Bush, Patrick Flueger, Laroyce Hawkins, Elias Koteas, Marina Squerciati, and Archie Kao.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Despite a parade of offensive comments, Variety says that advertising rates on Duck Dynasty are still high and companies aren’t worried about facing a backlash for sponsoring the program. How disappointing.

In a surprise development, Fox has rescued another rejected pilot. This time its Backstrom, starring Rainn Wilson as an abrasive detective based on a book series by Leif G.W. Persson. The rest of the original cast — including Kriftoffer Polaha and Dennis Haysery — are sticking around for the Fox version, save for Mamie Gummer.

No, there isn’t a new Twin Peaks project in the works. I’m just glad I heard about it at the denial stage so I couldn’t get my hopes up.
