Screenwriter/Songwriter Claims He Had To Hide His Conservative Bent

In a front-page feature today (Wednesday), the Wall Street Journal revealed that the singer who performs a “tea-party anthem” at conservative rallies across the country and goes by the name of Jon David is actually Jonathan Kahn, a Hollywood screenwriter and pop song composer who has disguised his identify out of fear of being blacklisted. Until recently he has performed wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap. “I’ve lived in the shadows my whole adult life,” he told the newspaper, explaining that he has now decided to come out of them. “It’s time,” he said. The revelation surprised Hollywood record producer Walter Afanasieff who has worked with Kahn for years. “I’m just finding out about this now?” he told the Journal. “I mean, he’s a member of a huge, Democratic, liberal organization called the Los Angeles entertainment business.” »
