While Warner Bros and director Zack Snyder, dither on a decision to cast actor Bryan Cranston as 'Lex Luthor' in Snyder's upcoming "Man Of Steel" sequel, in the belief that Cranston is either too old to play Luthor, or that Cranston's millions of "Breaking Bad" fans will not accept him as anyone other than meth dealer 'Walter White', Sneak Peek footage of an official alternate ending to AMC's award-winning "Breaking Bad" series, that pays homage to Cranston's other well-known performance as father 'Hal' on "Malcolm In The Middle" :

"...'Hal' (Cranston), in bed with his wife 'Lois' (Jane Kaczmarek) - wakes up from a terrifying dream, where he believed himself to be a ruthless and formidable meth dealer. Assured that he was only dreaming, Hal nevertheless tries to convince his wife that he is 'the one who knocks'..."

The Best Thing About That ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Alternate Ending

18 November 2013 9:00 AM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

That sound you heard coming from your computer, your phone, your tablet, your whosiwhatsit, and your web-enabled whatever over this weekend was the collective noise kicked up by the Internet as it broke, and broke in the best way possible – from joy! While television’s beloved Breaking Bad ended earlier this year, AMC’s game-changing series still has plenty of treats to offer its loyal fans, even if one of them leaked a touch too early on the interwebs. Fans of the Bryan Cranston-starring show have long toyed with a good-natured “theory” that the end of Breaking Bad would lead into the beginning of Cranston’s other well-known series, Malcolm in the Middle, with his Walter White going underground before turning into Malcolm’s dearly dysfunctional dad Hal. It was certainly a fun idea, if not a totally improbable one, but it seems as if the team behind Breaking Bad took it to heart, filming »

18 November 2013 8:29 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Although the dust settled a while back, everyone still seems to be mourning the loss of AMC’s Breaking Bad. Sure, the series is finished and the storyline has been all wrapped up, but don’t fret, faithful viewer: this weekend yielded something that is pretty much destined to become an internet sensation. Yes, an “alternate ending” for Breaking Bad’s final season has leaked and it is – in one word – amazing.

As you can see from the video above, it’s a rather different ending to the one that we saw a few weeks back. This time around, we visit Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston as they reprise their Malcolm In The Middle roles as Lois and Hal respectively. After Hal awakens from a bad dream one night, it’s revealed that the entire series of Breaking Bad was, in fact, a dream brought on by eating “deep-fried Twinkies. »

‘Breaking Bad’ Alternate Ending Leaks — Watch

Forget everything you thought you knew about Walter White. Once you push play, there’s no turning back.

Breaking Bad, one of the most celebrated dramas of our time, is widely believed to have had the perfect finale — but could it have been even more perfect? An alternate ending for AMC’s meth-centric series hit YouTube this weekend, revealing a game-changing twist to Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse’s (Aaron Paul) adventures in the drug trade.

In the above clip, Bryan wakes up as his Malcolm in the Middle character Hal, immediately after having “the scariest dream.” And who’s right by Hal’s side to field his every concern? Why, none other than his beloved wife, Lois (Jane Kaczmarek)! In a hilarious nod to the infamous ending of Newhart – in which Bob Newhart woke up in bed next to Suzanne Pleshette, who played his wife on The Bob Newhart Show »

Life Is Unfair as Breaking Bad “Alternate Ending” Goes Malcolm In The Middle

18 November 2013 7:52 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

When Bryan Cranston broke out in his dramatic role as Walter White in Breaking Bad, it was surprising not only because of the unique character, but also because Cranston was primarily known for playing the goofy dad Hal on the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle.  As Breaking Bad neared its conclusion, people joked that the show was actually a prequel to Malcolm in the Middle, and Walt was living out his days in witness protection.  Cranston has never shied away from poking fun at AMC's Emmy-winning drama, and the upcoming Blu-ray for the final season includes a special feature where Breaking Bad decides to pull a Newhart.  It's delightful, and I'm glad Malcolm co-star Jane Kaczmarek was game for it. Hit the jump to check out the alternate ending. »

Was it all just a terrible nightmare? Malcolm in the Middle’s Hal may have eaten too many fried Twinkies before bed, according to a new DVD extra. [Updated] At BuzzFeed, you can check out my latest post, "This Breaking Bad Alternate Ending Must Be Seen To Be Believed," in which I take a look at an alternate ending for AMC's Breaking Bad, one that invokes Newhart and, well, Malcolm in the Middle. Fans of AMC’s Breaking Bad continue to mourn the death of the antihero drama in their own unique ways, but thanks to this DVD extra — from the Breaking Bad: The Complete Series DVD box set, out November 26 — fans of the science-wielding antihero have yet another chance to imagine a different fate for Bryan Cranston’s Walter White. In this case, an alternate ending to the show itself, which — heavily borrowing from the iconic ending of Newhart »

'Breaking Bad' alternate ending: 'Malcolm in the Middle' meets 'Newhart'

17 November 2013 1:09 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Did you like the ending to "Breaking Bad"? Or is there some other way you would have wanted the dark AMC crime drama to end its run? If the second option is true, you might prefer this alternate ending in which star Bryan Cranston returns to his "Malcolm in the Middle" days, via the famous "Newhart" ending.

In the video (from the upcoming "Breaking Bad" DVD box set), Cranston's Walter White gets one of the many "Breaking Bad" lowlifes to say his name (the Heisenberg one, that is). But then the brightly lit earthtones of New Mexico fade ... Cranston wakes up in bed.

He has hair. And he is not alone -- "Malcolm in the Middle" wife Jane Kaczmarek is there to kindly mock her husband's foolishness and remind him it's all a dream.

Or is it -- Heisenberg's signature black hat sits on a chair nearby.

Votd: Super Mario, "Breaking Bad" Dream

The Four Players

Following the first two Mario and Luigi focused shorts the other day, the last two shorts from the gritty Super Mario Bros. reboot anthology "The Four Players" have gone online.

"Snow White and the Huntsman" scribe Evan Daugherty wrote and directed all four shorts, with these two focused on the characters of Princess Peach and Toad. Here the former is an imprisoned and tortured singer, the latter a steadfast soldier.

Breaking Bad

Also out today is an amusing video which gives AMC's "Breaking Bad" an alternate ending. Turns out it was all a dream of Bryan Cranston's "Malcolm in the Middle" character Hal.

Cranston and actress Jane Kaczmarek both appear in the short which was shot for the complete series DVD box-set due out November 26th.

‘Breaking Bad’ Gets ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Alternative Ending, Blooper Reel (Video)

You know that silly “Breaking Bad” finale theory where the AMC drama is all just a part of “Malcolm in the Middle” — well, that came to life. Kind of. In what was posted as an alternate ending, Bryan Cranston — as Hal from the raising Frankie Muniz sitcom — wakes up from a terrifying nightmare where he was Heisenberg. Cold sweat wasn’t the only liquid running down Hal’s face as he blubbered to “Malcolm” wife Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) about the scary dream. Hal runs through some great “Breaking Bad” character references, referring to brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris) as looking »

While Jeffrey Katzenberg's dream of just three more episodes remains just that and while we've debated at length the merits of the finale of one of the finest dramatic shows in recent memory, the creators of "Breaking Bad" have one more treat for you on the upcoming DVD box set: an official alternate ending. Okay, so maybe it's not quite "official," but clearly they were listening to the fans who joked this past summer that it would be hilarious if Walter White escaped from New Mexico and wound up in the suburbs as Hal, starting his life over as the head of the unruly "Malcolm In The Middle" gang. Well, this take on that gag goes the "it was all a dream" route instead, with Jane Kaczmarek gamely stepping in to reprise her part as Lois. Watch: A 'Breaking Bad' Alternate Ending Finally Unites the Show With 'Malcolm in the Middle'

17 November 2013 7:03 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Before he was Walter White, one of television's greatest protagonists, Bryan Cranston acted as the bungling suburban dad Hal on "Malcolm in the Middle" for seven seasons. It's one of the many reasons his then being cast as "Mr. Chips goes Scarface" worked so well -- "Breaking Bad" had the association of years of benign sitcom fatherhood off of which to play as its main character delved into drug dealing. While fans online have joked about the shows existing in the same universe -- what if Walt went into witness protection and met Jane Kaczmarek's Lois? -- "Breaking Bad" has gone one step further with this just-surfaced alternate ending that is almost certainly from the upcoming DVD box set coming out November 26th. Kaczmarek tweeted about stopping by the "Breaking Bad" set in January, and what seems to have been the result is this charming salute to the famous »
