Alfred Junge products
Alfred Junge was Born in Gorlitz, Germany, in 1886. He studied art in Germany and Italy and became a scenic artist at the Berlin State Opera and State Theatre Studios. Later he undertook art direction for UFA, Ewald André Dupont and Alexander Korda on many famous continental classics. He worked with Michael Powell on 10 movies between 1934 and 1947.

Alfred Junge has the distinction of being the only Production Designer to have one of his pictures hung in the Royal Academy. This was a sketch of "The Road to Estaminet do Pont" from The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943). (Reported in 1946, others may have achieved this honour since).
Deborah Kerr , the star of Black Narcissus (1947) , for which Junge won his only Oscar, gave him an autographed photo, personally inscribed, "To Alfred Junge, of all art directors the most brilliant".
