Russell Mulcahy, the director who gave us “Highlander” way back when and, more recently, “Resident Evil: Extinction,” will direct an indie actioner “Give ‘Em Hell, Malone,” starring Ving Rhames, Thomas Jane and Elsa Pataky. Hannibal Pictures and Continental Entertainment are producing, with shooting scheduled to start October 6 in Spokane, Wash. Richard Rionda Del Castro, Richard Salvatore and Johnny Martin are producing the screenplay penned by Mark Hosack. Martin Barab, Oscar Generale, Armand Speca, Walter Josten and Jeffrey Geoffray executive produce the film which centers on a private eye attempting to retrieve a mysterious case. The last film by the Australian filmmaker that was worth anyone’s time was the underrated Denzel Washington action film “Ricochet," produced by Joel Silver back in 1991.  Here’s hoping Mulchay Gives Us Hell again after all these years. »
