More than half of Gold Derby's experts, editors and users predict Gwyneth Paltrow to prevail in the Comedy Guest Actress race for her three-episode stint on "Glee." However, a quick analysis of recent winners in this category suggests that the popular Oscar champ ("Shakespeare in Love") may have her work cut out for her. At age 38, she's simply too young! -Inserts:25- Last year, comedy legend Betty White (now 89) won for the hilarious Mother's Day episode of "Saturday Night Live," while Kathryn Joosten (now 71) prevailed in 2005 and 2008 for her recurring character of nosy neighbor Karen McCluskey on "Desperate Housewives." Executive producers told the cast on set earlier this month that the hit drama's upcoming eighth season will be its last.
The 71 year old, who has played Karen McCluskey since the show debuted in 2004, admits she's been unhappy with her storylines in recent years as writers weren't devising age-appropriate plots for her.
She tells E! News, "I'm glad to be done with it, because it's said everything there is to say and done it.
"There hasn't been that much for me to do anyhow because they don't know how to write for people my age... There haven't been any stories for me for the last two years." »
We already know that Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman is "really sad" that the ABC series' eighth season will be its last. But which one of the Huffman's Desperate costars is actually happy to see the show coming to an end? "I'm glad to be done with it," Kathryn Joosten, who plays sharp-tongued Mrs. McCluskey, told us last night at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Performers Peer Group 2011 Emmys cocktail reception at L.A.'s Sheraton Universal Hotel. Why's that? "Because it's said everything there is to say and done it," she explained. "There hasn't been that much for me to do anyhow because they don't know how »

Okay, let's get one thing clear. Mega Python vs. Gatoroid is a bad movie. The film contains glaring continuity errors, the acting gets pretty wooden at times, the script is just as lazy as you'd expect and the CGI is pretty bad (though not as bad as Lake Placid 3). In short, it's everything you'd expect from The Asylum, but that's not to say the film isn't a lot of fun. While it doesn't reach the inspired heights of unintentional lunacy in Mega Piranha, director Mary Lambert keeps things moving with very little drag time and refuses to take things too seriously.

Time to move off Wisteria Lane: EW has learned that Desperate Housewives will end its eight-year run on ABC in May. The network is expected to make it official on Sunday, when it meets with the nation’s TV critics in Beverly Hills.
News of the show’s series finale doesn’t come as a huge surprise, since the four stars recently went through a protracted — and pricey — salary renegotiation to return for another season of the Sunday drama. (Earning north of $400,000 per episode, they were already among the highest-paid actresses in prime time). Still, the drama’s core cast — which includes Teri Hatcher, »

When Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) told Gabby (Eva Longoria) she wasn’t allowed to see Bree (Marcia Cross) anymore, we all knew she wouldn’t listen to him. What I didn’t see coming, however, was that their secret friendship would result in the end of her marriage with Carlos! Three of Emmys' favorite ladies -- Cloris Leachman, Betty White, and Kathryn Joosten -- should start dusting off their mantels, because one of them could well win another statue this September as Best Supporting Comedy Actress. Together, this trio of sassy dames has racked up a staggering 41 Emmy nominations and 15 wins over their lengthy careers. Cloris Leachman leads with 21 nominations and a record 8 victories (and that's not even counting her single Daytime Emmy award). While she is billed as a "Special Guest Star" on "Raising Hope," her over-the-top character Maw Maw has become such a fixture on the Fox laffer that she should be entered in the supporting category come Emmy time. Betty White, a 17-time nominee, picked up her fifth statue last year as Guest Comedy Actress for her much-viewed stint hosting "Saturday Night Live." Last month, White was as suprised as the pundits when she won the Comedy »
The Bold and the Beautiful can be wildly goofy and trash-tastic — and we do love that! — but the CBS soap turns deadly serious for its 6,000th episode on February 7. That's when stage 4 lung-cancer patient Stephanie Forrester, played by Susan Flannery, and several actual lung-cancer survivors — including Desperate Housewives star Kathryn Joosten and Chinese opera diva Zheng Cao — will attempt an intervention to convince Nick (Jack Wagner) that he needs to deal with his addiction to cigar smoking. TV Guide Magazine got a rare chance to speak with the ultra-private, four-time Emmy winning Flannery — herself a cancer survivor — and got her take on this groundbreaking story.

Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid premiered on the Syfy network Saturday, January 29 at 9:00 Et and the movie will be replayed on Thursday, February 3 at 9 Pm Et. The movie stars 80s pop icons Deborah Gibson and Tiffany, who both held a conference call to discuss their new sci-fi adventure. Here's what they had to say below:
Can you both talk about what it's been like after all these years to still be connected and now be doing a movie together as women?
Tiffany: I think it's great. I think it's something that our fans have waited for a long time. I mean the funny thing to me is who would've thought that pythons and gators would unite us.
Deborah Gibson: Would bring us together yes.
Tiffany: It's this great movie that I truly enjoyed making. And it was awesome for me to be able to get to know Debbie more »

The fine folks running The Asylum have done it again. Purveyor of mockbusters and Syfy mega-features such as Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, Mega Piranha and, of course, Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus, The Asylum has now delivered unto us Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, and it's safe to say that this low-budget delight delivers everything you might desire from a film bearing such a title.
Although the flick's big battle is ostensibly between the titular creatures, in truth the main event features '80s pop tarts Tiffany and Debbie Gibson playing strong women at odds who, by movie's end, are united in more ways than one by a common mega-enemy.
Gibson stars as Nikki, a fervent animal rights activist whose zeal borders on the sociopathic. Tiffany plays Terry, a park ranger whose beat is the Florida Everglades. »
"Pythons are at the top of the food chain, deal with it!" - Dr. Nikki (Debbie Gibson)"If she hurts my snakes, we'll get it on film!"- Dr. Nikki (Debbie Gibson)"They ruined my perfect garden" - Terry (Tiffany)"We need a bigger gator!" - Terry (Tiffany)"Diego, if you're there, leave my Gator eggs alone!"- Terry (Tiffany)"I just need a moment to regroup"- Mickey Dolenz The mega Saturday night B-Movie fun creature feature is back in big reptilian style as 1980s singing sensations Debbie Gibson and Tiffany face off in a long-awaited pop princess smackdown, when they co-star in the ripped-from-the-headlines Syfy Saturday Original Movie, Mega Python Vs Gatoroid, which will premieres Saturday, January 29, at 9Pm (Et/Pt). The time has come. The stars have aligned. Mega Python vs. Gatoroid premieres on Syfy this weekend. Tiffany and Debbie Gibson are so excited the two one-time teen pop singers have recorded new songs for the soundtrack.
Saturday, January 29th, at 9Pm Est/8Pm Cst on Syfy: Giant python collides with giant alligator as the biggest teen pop princesses of the late 1980s collide in their own long overdue smackdown. Deborah Gibson is an overzealous animal rights activist who releases mutant pythons into the Florida Everglades. Tiffany is a park ranger so angry over her boyfriend's death she feeds steroids to some hungry gators in hopes of creating a bigger, meaner, hungrier gatoroid to eat them pythons. The result will no doubt mark the greatest cinematic clash of giant reptiles since Dragon Wars.
Too bad the last Desperate Housewives before February sweeps aired alongside the much-hyped Golden Globe Awards, because there were some decent turn of events that transpired in the hour.
It All Becomes Clear…
Zach Young’s reappearance last week still had a ripple effect in the ‘Who Shot Paul Young?’ mystery when Paul realized that the gun planted in Bree’s house (and the one used to shoot him) was none other than the gun Mary Alice shot herself with in the pilot episode. Why I didn’t correlate the two last week is beyond me, but I think it’s safe to name Zach Young the gunman in this mystery. I stress the word ‘think.’
It’s pretty interesting how the Paul Young mystery turned out this year so far. Instead of having Paul slowly plot revenge throughout the season, he’s implemented his plan, got shot because of it, »
