Toby acted in many productions at his school in Oxfordshire, Abingdon School, where he was a contemporary of the four members of the band Radiohead, whose music was used in Vanilla Sky (2001).

Son of Freddie Jones, the British character actor who has appeared in many films including The Elephant Man (1980). Brother of Rupert Jones the director and Casper Jones the actor.
