Former X Factor judge appears at Essex court with her assistant, who is charged with threatening behaviour
The singer Tulisa Contostavlos has denied an assault charge linked to claims she punched a blogger at a music festival.
The 25-year-old former X Factor judge appeared at Chelmsford magistrates court, in Essex, where she was facing one count of common assault.
Her assistant, Gareth Varey, is accused of threatening behaviour, which he denies.
The charges are related to an alleged confrontation with a blogger at the V festival last year.
The singer's spokesman, Simon Jones, said: "Tulisa has been charged with an offence of common assault and her Pa, Gareth Varey, with an offence of threatening behaviour.
"Today [on Wednesday] at court Tulisa and Gareth entered pleas of not guilty to these unfounded allegations, and they both look forward to demonstrating their innocence at the forthcoming trial."

According to the MailOnline, Newcastle United may be set to do more outgoing business today before the 11pm transfer window deadline.
Both misfiring Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse and frozen out attacking midfielder Sylvain Marveaux could be set for moves away from the North East after two sides apparently made offers for the players.
Turkish side Trabzonspor have bid £6.6m for Cisse, according to the Mail’s reporter Simon Jones, though an earlier Mail report suggested that Newcastle were more likely to hold out for closer to £10m after an earlier bid from an unnamed Middle Eastern club:
Marveaux meanwhile is apparently available for just £2m, after interest from French side Nantes, according to Mail reporter Neil Ashton after a disappointing season has seen him all but frozen out of the first team picture, even despite the departure of Yohan Cabaye.

London, Jan 10: A woman from Cardigan, West Wales, is being compared to James Bond villain Jaws after she chomped down on a car in a drunken rage.
Rhian Jeremiah had allegedly been drinking at a memorial night for her late beau Simon Jones, who had drowned off the coast of Aberystwyth, when she got into a fight with three strangers, Metro.co.uk reported.
Jeremiah, 26, sunk her teeth in the Fiat 500's roof and left teeth marks in the car's bodywork, causing damage worth 220 pounds.
Jeremiah, who is currently unemployed, denied the incident ever happened, but admitted to assaulting 2 cops who had come to arrest her.
