While at Cambridge Revue Club Footlights, he met Douglas Adams, who later cast him as the utterly ordinary Earthman Arthur Dent in his cult classic The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, both in the original 1978 radio series and the 1981 TV mini-series. The two were lifelong friends after college and Jones later spoke at Adams's funeral on 11 May 2001. See more trivia »
