Angus was the first child that the casting crew saw for the role of "Jake" on "Two and a Half Men" (2003), and they liked him so much, they cast him immediately. Angus found out he had the job just as he was leaving the audition. "It was great not having to have the anticipation of a phone call", he has said.

He began his career at age 4 doing television commercials.

He landed his first lead role, at age 6, in the feature film, See Spot Run (2001).

His cousin, Christopher Masterson, appeared in the hit comedy, "Malcolm in the Middle" (2000).

Angus was honored as the Rising Star of 2009 at the "Big Brothers Big Sisters Rising Star Gala" in late October 2009. The award was presented to him by his "Two and a Half Men" (2003) co-star, Jon Cryer.

Angus lists Chris Farley and Jack Black as role models for his acting career.
