5 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

'You love me, and you are not going to shoot me!' That's that ultimatum Letty drops at Dom's feet in the new International trailer for The Fate of the Furious. This one minute clip arrives with plenty of action and big explosions, and offers a few more details about the story. Though, it's still unclear what has turned Dom against his family.

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game, with the rest of the crew being exonerated, the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can't seem to escape, and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before. The Fate of the Furious gets an international trailer with sneak peek at Camila Cabello and Pitbull’s new song

5 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Universal’s upcoming eighth installment in the Fast & Furious saga, The Fate of the Furious, has just received an international trailer. Despite the video being relatively short (clocking in at around one minute), it manages to both show off never-before-seen footage and give a sneak peek at production on the music video for one of the film’s original songs. Watch it below…

The trailer places quite a bit of emphasis on the relationship between Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), a dynamic that previous spots and trailers for Fate failed to highlight, instead showcasing the over-the-top action set pieces fans have come to expect.

Many were surprised when the Fate team announced they’d be heading to Cuba to shoot scenes, but the beautiful scenery on display in the trailer indicates it was a good decision. Toretto and Ortiz couldn’t have chosen a better honeymoon spot. »

Batman Spinoff ‘Nightwing’ in the Works With ‘Lego Batman’ Director

6 hours ago | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Warner Bros. is developing a live-action “Nightwing” movie, based on the DC character, with “The Lego Batman Movie” director Chris McKay in negotiations to helm.

The Nightwing character first appeared in a 1963 DC comic book as an alias used by Superman in stories set in Kandor, a Kryptonian city that was preserved in a bottle. Nightwing was later re-imagined as a vigilante character, taken on by Dick Grayson when he left behind his Robin identity. Michael Cera voiced the Dick Grayson/Robin role in “Lego Batman.”

Bill Dubuque, who wrote “The Accountant,” is writing the “Nightwing” script. The project is part of Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe, which launched with 2013’s “Man of Steel,” followed by last year’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad.” Upcoming films that have been dated include “Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot and opening June 2; “Justice League,” opening Nov. 17; and “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa and opening Oct. »

Hero Or Villain? Dwayne Johnson Tackles Black Adam’s Moral Code In New Video

10 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Is Dwayne Johnson’s version of Black Adam a hero? That depends on how you interpret the word ‘hero,’ according to The Rock himself.

As part of his new Instagram Q&A series, Johnson fielded questions from fans regarding wrestling biopic Fighting With My Family, along with his role in Universal’s The Fate of the Furious. It wasn’t long though before the conversation turned toward Black Adam, where the former WWE star took the opportunity to tackle the character’s dubious moral code.

Painted as a villain in DC comics, early reports suggest Dwayne Johnson plans to extract the human element from Mighty Adam. As previously announced, Johnson’s hero (anti-hero?) will make his debut in Shazam! before headlining a Black Adam solo movie, the former of which is currently courting Lights Out helmer David F. Sandberg to direct.

Dwayne Johnson teases Rampage script session, confirmed as his next movie

22 February 2017 3:55 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Among the multitude of projects on Dwayne Johnson’s slate is a big screen adaptation of the beloved 80s video game Rampage, and The Rock has taken to Instagram to announce that it is set to be his next movie, with production getting underway in April. Johnson shared the following image, taken during a six-hour script session:

The game revolved around three gigantic monsters – a gorilla, lizard and wolf – who have to smash up various buildings whilst fending off the military. Plot details for the movie are being kept under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the three monsters will feature (although I’d be surprised if they’re called George, Lizzie and Ralph).

Rampage will reunite Johnson with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and San Andreas director Brad Peyton, while the cast so far includes Naomie Harris (Moonlight),  Joe Manganiello (True Blood) and Marley Shelton (Solace). »

First Trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Prison Doc 'Rock and a Hard Place'

22 February 2017 10:28 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Don't squander this opportunity." HBO Documentaries has premiered a trailer for a new doc titled Rock and a Hard Place, featuring Dwayne Johnson (formerly known as "The Rock") sharing his experiences with a program he supports. Johnson tells about his own experiences with the law as a youth, and meets some of the kids currently enrolled in a one-of-a-kind boot camp program for incarcerated youth. This looks like a powerful, and hopefully inspiring, follow-up to Ava DuVernay's incredible documentary 13th - which touches on the troubles with the modern prison system. It looks like Johnson only comes in for a talk once, but maybe he is more prominent in the actual doc itself. I'm curious about seeing this. Check out the trailer. Newswire: Fate Of The Furious audiences might be in for a long ride

21 February 2017 6:00 AM, PST | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

There are new reports that it’ll be a while before we learn The Fate Of The Furious. No, the April 14 release date—which Vin Diesel took care of announcing in addition to a ton of other production news, because he’s vying with Dwayne Johnson to become a one-man studio—hasn’t been pushed back or anything. But CinemaBlend has caught wind of the fact that the film’s runtime is listed as 160 minutes on its IMDb page. Now, that does require a grain of salt, because IMDb pages generally comprise crowdsourced info, and are no strangers to errors. But the Fast And Furious movies have gotten longer the longer the franchise has been around—the first film clocked in at an hour and 47 minutes, which would mean Fate Of The Furious would have that time beat by an hour or so (taking longer to cross »

Fate of the Furious Runtime Revealed, Is It Too Long?

20 February 2017 2:05 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

It may be a little hard to believe, but the eighth movie in The Fast and the Furious franchise will be coming out in a little under two months. Somehow, Universal has turned a couple of movies about good looking people, fast cars and crime into one of the most successful and long-running franchises ever. The upcoming installment, The Fate of the Furious, is going to be a massive movie in more ways than one. Not only will it be big on action and spectacle, but the movie is reportedly going to be nearly three hours long.

IMDb recently updated The Fate of the Furious movie page and now has the movie listed with a reported run time of 160 minutes. Yes, if this new information is true, Fast and Furious 8 is going to be by far the longest movie in the franchise and one of the more lengthy movies to be released in recent memory. »

The Fate of the Furious may have a 160-minute runtime

20 February 2017 12:25 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Between the countless absurd action sequences, fist-pumping one-liners and monologues about family, you’d think each Fast & Furious film had a lengthy runtime, but such is not the case — at least not yet. According to European movie site Cinemarx, the upcoming eighth entry in the beloved franchise, The Fate of the Furious, will be the longest film yet.

While, of course, the runtime won’t be official until Universal Pictures confirms it themselves, reportedly The Fate of the Furious will clock in at a giant 160 minutes (two hours 40 minutes).

Over time, the Fast & Furious movies have generally been getting longer, while still remaining at a reasonable length, with the first four films in the series all running in the 100-minute range and the three more recent movies in the 130-minute range. In fact, Furious 7 was the previous title holder of longest in the series, coming in at 137 minutes. Despite this trend, »

Dwayne Johnson is moving from the Jumanji remake to videogame adaptation Rampage...

He’s wrapped production on the remake of Jumanji, that’s heading to screens at the end of the year. Baywatch and Fast & Furious 8 are in the can for release during the summer. And now Dwayne Johnson has turned his attention to his next project.

See related  Star Wars: Rogue One review Star Wars: how close were we to Josh Trank's Boba Fett film?

Of the many potential projects on his slate, it’s the adaptation of videogame Rampage that’s bubbled up to the top. It’s going to be loosely based around the 1980s game, although given the lack of plot to play with, there’s a fair amount of liberty that can easily be taken here.
