"Red Riding Hood" is Warners upcoming Vancouver-lensed horror feature directed by Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight") from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson, loosely based on the European folk tale "Little Red Riding Hood" :

"...In 'Red Riding Hood', 'Valerie' (Amanda Seyfried) is torn between two men. In love with brooding outsider 'Peter' (Shiloh Fernandez), her parents have arranged for her to marry wealthy 'Henry' (Max Irons).

"Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter plan to run away together, until they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by a 'werewolf' that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village.

"For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life.

Director Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) has also confirmed that Wrath of The Titans will be filmed in 3D as opposed to a post production 3D conversion, which was an issue that the first film had and was overwhelmingly criticized for. Wrath Of The Titans Gets a Release Date

14 December 2010 8:50 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Wrath of the Titans is the sequel to that utterly terrible film Clash of the Titans, and Warner Bros. has gone ahead and set a release date for March 30th 2012.

The film is going to be directed by Battle Los Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman, and Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes will all reprise the roles they played in the first movie.

As of right now there is very little known about the movie, but we've heard that it will go through a whole revamping. David Johnson (Red Riding Hood) and Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern) are writing the script for the new Titans movie. which will most likely be shot in 3D this time around.

It's no secret that I absolutely hated Clash of the Titans... what a waste of everything. It was such an insult to the original film. So obviously I'm not excited for this sequel. »

ShockYa have debuted three new images of Amanda Seyfried in the Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) directed Red Riding Hood, which is reportedly a more gothic take on the traditional fairy tale ala the traditional Brothers Grimm story.

Is 'Red Riding Hood' Merely 'Twilight'-Lite?

23 November 2010 9:00 PM, PST | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

If your whole world feels empty when there isn’t a 'Twilight' film in theaters, don’t fret. Red Riding Hood is coming in March 2011, and should ease your pain. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, helmer of the first Twilight, this “modern” (yet period) rendition of the legendary folktale simply feels like the Twilight sequel Hardwicke never got a chance to direct.

In 2008, Hardwicke was notoriously denied the job of Twilight captain when she tried to hold Summit Entertainment hostage by demanding more money. An absurd request for the creator of the 'Twilight' film world, especially considering the no-named talent triumvirate of Stewart-Pattinson-and-Lautner were able to demand an untoward amount of millions more for their sequels. The even lesser-known actors, more commonly known as The Cullens, were even permitted additional zeroes. But director Hardwicke, auteur of the great films Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown, was shown the door.
