The Dukes of Hazzard: Back to Hazzard, Way Back!

27 February 2007 10:51 AM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The Dukes of Hazzard was a very popular primetime show that ran on CBS for seven seasons, from 1979 until 1985. The series inspired a slew of merchandising sporting the faces of series stars John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach and of course their car, the high-jumping General Lee. There was also a Saturday morning animated series, a short-lived spin-off (which focused on Deputy Enos Strate), and two reunion movies in 1997 and 2000.

Over 25 years after the original series debuted, a feature film based on the series was released in 2005. The film starred Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, Jessica Simpson, Burt Reynolds and Willie Nelson. Though there was no relation to the TV show beyond the title and premise, the film did moderately well, taking in $110 million worldwide. It was named the worst picture of the year by several critics but that's not stopping the studio from going back to the till one more time. »

Maverick, HBO fire up 'Hosed'

10 January 2007 | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

Madonna's Maverick Films has teamed with HBO Films for Hosed, a feature comedy to co-star four members of the Jackass gang -- Chris Pontius, Steve Steve-O Glover, Preston Lacy and Jason Wee Man Acuna. The film, now in development, is described as a broad comedy about an uncoordinated, over-enthusiastic volunteer firefighter who is finally assigned to a firehouse where he has to deal with a band of misfit firefighters from the wrong side of the tracks. Pontius, Glover, Lacy and Acuna will play misfits, with Pontius playing the leader of the band. The volunteer firefighter with whom they interact has not been cast. Adam Tex Davis (Just Friends) will pen the script based on an idea by Michael Schreiber and Maverick's Brent Emery. Maverick's Guy Oseary, Emery and Mark Morgan will produce with Schreiber executive producing. Hosed will be released by Picturehouse, the theatrical distribution company jointly owned by HBO and New Line Cinema.

Pontius, Glover, Lacy and Acuna starred opposite Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera on MTV's successful series Jackass, which spawned two hit films for MTV Films and Paramount Pictures: Jackass: The Movie and Jackass Number Two. »
