New on DVD/Blu-ray: 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' 'The Maze Runner' and More

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Paramount - Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD Director: Jonathan Liebesman Cast: Megan FoxAlan RitchsonJeremy HowardJohnny KnoxvilleNoel Fisher. Full cast + crew The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a punching bag before anyone had even seen a frame of it. That's just inevitable when you take something with a rabid fan base and throw Michael Bay's name in the mix. But the actual movie really isn't that bad. One could argue there's too much April O'Neil and not enough Turtles, and that would be fair (though it also makes this one of the only 2014 blockbusters with a female lead), but the actual turtles team has got the same lighthearted family dynamic that made them a mainstay for kids in...

Bebop and Rocksteady confirmed for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2; Casey Jones could feature

8 December 2014 2:31 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

We reported last week that David Green (Earth to Echo) would be replacing Jonathan Liebsman as director for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, and we can now confirm some of the previous rumours surrounding new character additions.

According to Omelete (via Collider), long-time adversaries Bebop and Rocksteady will appear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, possibly alongside Casey Jones. A few months back we posted some concept artwork for Bebop and Rocksteady and were asked to remove them, prompting speculation that they would feature in the sequel.

“We can say that Bebop and Rocksteady are in the film, and Casey Jones is a character that we love and we’re trying to fit him in as well,” said producer Andrew Form at Ccxp.

Co-producer Brad Fuller also confirmed the return of April O’Neil, Vernon Fenwick and Shredder. No word yet on Krang.

This will be Bebop and Rocksteady’s first big-screen appearance. »

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 May Gain David Green

5 December 2014 6:51 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Alright, who was it who plunked down their hard-earned cash to watch the painfully dull CGI-fest that was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back in August? Come on, fess up. I’ll wait… It was you?!? Gah, I thought so. Someone must have seen it, because somehow the franchise reboot grossed $477 million worldwide, leading Paramount to eagerly greenlight (*shudder*) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Now, we’re hearing that another key piece of the puzzle is about to fall in place for the fast-tracked sequel, with Earth to Echo director David Green reportedly in early talks to direct.

It’s a little surprising that Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles), the director of the first installment, wasn’t asked back, especially given how excited he appeared to be about the prospect of turning Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into a bona fide franchise. However, it seems evident that Paramount wanted to go in »

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 finds its director

4 December 2014 5:07 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Despite all the claims and promises Jonathan Liebesman made about a sequel for this summer’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it seems as though he won’t be back for another outing.

Instead, Variety are reporting that David Green (Earth to Echo) will take over the director’s chair for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earned around $477 million worldwide and Paramount announced a sequel for the movie on its weekend opening, despite not having the cast confirmed to return, a director, or a script in place.

No details on plot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 have been announced, but Megan Fox, who played April O’Neil in the original, hinted that there were Easter Eggs in the movie to suggest that Bebop and Rockstead would feature. In fact, concept art was leaked online a few months back that suggested both Bebop and Rocksteady would be in the sequel, »
