“This is Joe Bob Briggs reminding you that the Drive-In will Never Die!”
In 1993, Monstervision on TNT in America, was mostly a program that aired old horror movies and science fiction with the occasional hosting from magicians Penn and Teller. During the early nineties, many cable channels hadn’t yet solidified their formats, and horror hosts were still ways to fill late night television since most channels couldn’t afford original programming. During that time, esteemed and controversial film critic John Bloom (known by his pen name Joe Bob Briggs), finished his tenure at the Movie Channel, which had also began changing its format.
Briggs was unfortunately released from his acclaimed show where he introduced uncut movies for his fans with his color commentary book ending the movies. The prologues and closers often featured comedy with the Briggs character, when he wasn’t interviewing genre favorites like Linnea Quigley. He »

For some movie fans, the 80s will never be surpassed. The 70s might have been a more important decade for cinema, with its gritty, groundbreaking releases, but the 80s’ high output of tongue-in-cheek blockbusters, violent action movies and teen comedies was a lot more fun.
From ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ to ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ the 80s is a decade filled with hits that are still widely celebrated today. Of course, that’s not to say there weren’t a lot of stinkers in that time too, and the decade is also known for its high ratio of cheesy, badly made flops.
This list takes a look at ten awesome 80s movies that time forgot. From quirky, unique comedies to exceptional action films that didn’t quite gain legendary status, each of these entries are well worth a watch for any discerning movie fan.

Missi Pyle has been cast as herself in Director's Cut.
Jillette will play a psycho fan who buys a walk-on role in Pyle's latest movie via a crowdfunding site, before kidnapping her and forcing her to reshoot the movie in his own studio.
Jillette said: "It's an odd experience to help pick someone for me to stalk."
He added: "We wanted someone who my character could be obsessed with, but it needed to be someone who had all the acting and comedy chops to pull off a role that has to be scary and funny - sometimes at the same time."

So far, The CW has struck out with their new summer series. Seed, Backpackers, and Famous in 12 have already been cancelled and didn't even get to finish their seasons. Will Penn & Teller: Fool Us bring the small network some "ratings magic" or will this show disappear as well?
On Penn & Teller: Fool Us, aspiring magicians perform tricks and illusions for the famous duo in an attempt to fool and impress them. If they succeed, the magicians get a chance to perform in Las Vegas with Penn and Teller. British television personality Jonathan Ross is the host.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, »

(spoiler alert for season one)
Comedian Josh Thomas is calling from deep in the Nevada desert. He and his boyfriend had been making their way to watch a Penn and Teller show in Vegas when their gold-coloured, 1968 Buick convertible suddenly broke down.
Then we missed our show, so now were just looking at the stars in the desert and doing an interview with the Guardian, says Thomas, squeakily.

The Sportsman Channel is about to kick off a new show, and it is probably one of the best examples of taking advantage of your niche audience that you’re going to see. Camp Stew purports to showcase, “the best of the worst of the great outdoors,” and is apparently something like America’s Funniest Home Videos for all things outdoors and/or hunting.
Hosted by magician Penn Jillette, the show brings you home (and I imagine other) videos of epic fails that take place outdoors, with Jillette providing commentary. According to the show, you’ll see footage involving “Girls and Guns,” “Backyard Rambos,” “Wild Hunts and Cold Outdoors,” “Outdoor Pranks,” “Unreal Shots,” and much more.
Given current trends in television, and, as I said, capitalizing on an audience, I’d be amazed if this didn’t instantly become the best performing show on the network. I’m not sure »
