Rajshri venturing into the grey zone with Samrat & Co

We are used to seeing Rajshri movies with mostly nice, sugar quoted characters living in a rosy loving world… Among all these ‘white’ characters you would have just one or two black characters which eventually turn positive as the movie ends. Kavita Barjatya comes out with her maiden venture Samrat & Co. which has a huge band of characters like any other Rajshri movie but the twist in the tale is that all the characters are grey. This Rajeev Khandelwal starrer film is directed by Kaushik Ghatak.

In this film, Rajeev essaying the role of ‘Samrat’, plays a private investigator. Samrat is extremely intelligent, a bit eccentric and a king at heart.

Shyam Benegal's movie goes through a title change again

For his second consecutive film, Shyam Benegal is seeing a change in title. His last year's release Welcome To Sajjjanpur was earlier titled Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur [based on the character played by Shreyas Talpade - Mahadev] before the new (and more multiplex friendly) title came into being. Now history is repeating itself as the title of his latest film Abba Ka Kuan too has gone for a change. The film would henceforth be called Well Done Abba. "It is much more audience friendly title, isn't it", says a prominent crew member, "Not many would have been able to comprehend what Abba Ka Kuan stood for. In fact it also gave an impression to some that it is a movie made for children when the fact is that it is for all age groups. Boman Irani, Minissha Lamba, Samir Dattani in Shyam Benegal's next

Veteran filmmaker Shyam Bengal's last film Welcome To Sajjanpur emerged as one of the surprise hits of 2008 garnering both critical acclaim and commercial B.O. success. Now the acclaimed filmmaker is all set to start his next film tentatively titled Abba Ka Kuan. Bollywood Hungama spoke to Shyam Benegal to get some more facts about his latest project. "Yes, my next film is tentatively called Abba Ka Kuan. It's based on a short story called Narsaiya Ki Baawli written in 1988 by Jeelani Bano.
