Kandeyce Jorden was born in Berlin, Germany and grew up riding horses in Northern California. She worked as an executive recruiter in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She landed the lead role in
Miguel Arteta's
Star Maps (1997), which earned critical acclaim at the Sundance Film festival. She continued to act in several more films and commercials before turning to directing. Her short film
Undone (2001) was shown at film festivals around the world and won awards at Nodance 2001. She also directed a short film for Skyy Vodka called
The Layover (2001).
Her film
Girl (2013) is a feature length music documentary, over 15 years in the making. Now available on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon Prime. The film was inspired by Kandeyce's curiosity to explore how female DJ's were making it in a man's world. It soon took a turn after meeting the notorious DJ
Sandra Collins.
Kandeyce graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising with a degree in Merchandise Marketing. In addition to her film work, she is a mother and paints.
