Janet Jackson has far from fond memories about her time on hit TV show "Fame" in the mid 1980s because she was dealing with drug issues away from the set. The "Nasty" singer played Cleo Hewitt in 25 episodes of the hit musical show but admits she "wasn't happy".
She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "My boyfriend at the time was having issues with substance abuse, so I was having to deal with that and then having to come to work. I was late most of the time."
Janet Jackson joined "Fame" in its fourth season from 1984 to 1985. She starred opposite Debbie Allen, Albert Hague, Carol Mayo Jenkins and Ann Nelson. "Fame" tells the story about the life of the students and faculty at the New York City High School for the Performing Arts.
