With a career that spans almost 30 years, Winona Ryder has starred in almost every genre of film, from sci-fi and drama to horror, animation and comedy. This week, Ryder adds a new genre to her expansive filmography with a role in the true crime biography The Iceman, opens in limited release May 17th.
Ryder stars as Deborah Pellicotti, the wife of notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Michael Shannon). The movie, based on actual events, follows Kuklinski as he climbs his way up to criminal ladder becoming the mob’s fierce go-to hitman, all while keeping his occupation hidden from his wife and children. It’s certainly a change of pace from her last big screen roles in the Kevin James comedy The Dilemma and as the voice of Elsa Van Helsing in Frankenweenie!

Is this Craig Robinson’s first step toward becoming the black Kevin James, at least in terms of leading “play-it-safe” mainstream comedies? It could be, but the other career choices he’s made lead me to believe his destination will prove decidedly more interesting. Being a part of the Apatow crew has given him a few unique comedic roles (he’s one of the better aspects of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s fitfully hilarious, but uneven, “This Is the End,” which opens June 13th and happens to contain one of the most unexpected cameos of all-time) and he’s consistently one of the most relatable characters on “The Office.” He brings his nice guy chops to “Peeples,” and while the results »

The latest poster for Dennis Dugan‘s upcoming Grown Ups 2 is here to remind you that Kevin James used to be sexy. Just kidding, they all look like idiots, but I guess that’s exactly the thing with this buddy comedy – just because they’re a little older, doesn’t mean they’ve grown up, remember? Anyway, beside James, Grown Ups 2 cast includes Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello and Nick Swardson, and the movie is set to hit theaters on July 12th, 2013. Written by Sandler, Fred Wolf and Tim Herlihy, the sequel to 2010′s Grown Ups revolves around Sandler’s...

Los Angeles — Leah Remini had good reason to join the new ABC sitcom "Family Tools."
The former "The King of Queens" star has a development deal with the network, and ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee asked her to be part of the comedy debuting 8:30 p.m. Edt on Wednesday.
Then Remini's mother weighed in.
"She said, `Who's in it?'" the actress recalled. After hearing the cast included J.K. Simmons ("Juno," "The Closer"), Remini's mom replied, "He's a real actor, Leah. You should do it."
"As opposed to me," Remini said, wryly. "He's real, he does drama."
Remini has made her career largely in comedy but her mom still can brag on her. Besides the 1998-2007 run opposite Kevin James in CBS' "King of Queens," Remini has worked steadily in a string of sitcoms including "Cheers" and "In the Motherhood." She was a co-host on "The Talk" for »

Put the gun down, take that rope from around your neck, step back from that ledge. This is not, I repeat Not, a sequel to the Kevin James movie. Phew! Almost lost a few of you there. Jessica Chastain is to star in an adaptation of The Zookeeper’S Wife, a book by Diane Ackerman. When Nazis invade Warsaw, Jan and Antonina Zabinski begin protecting animals and Jews with the use of their zoo. Chastain will take on the role of Antonina, and production outfit Panorama are hoping to sell the idea at Cannes. Niki Caro, known for her work on Whale Rider and North Country, will direct the project. A true story featuring the endurance of the human spirit And animals? This sounds like it could be a real emotional crowd pleaser.

Salma Hayek and Taylor Lautner teamed up for a photocall in Cancun yesterday as part of promotions for their upcoming movie Grown Ups 2. The duo was also joined by fellow castmates Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and David Spade, all of whom attended CinemaCon with Salma and Taylor on Wednesday in Las Vegas. Missing from both promotional stops were the group's other costars Maya Rudolph and Chris Rock. The Grown Ups 2 cast did get together as a whole, though, for an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Wednesday as well. During the show Maya finally confirmed she was pregnant with her fourth child, and the cast joked that she will be naming her newborn Grown Ups 3. Apart from the funny times Salma is partaking in during her promotional duties, she has a more serious project well in the works. Salma cofounded the Chime For Change women's »

Tonight was the night for Sony Pictures Entertainment. President of worldwide distribution Rory Bruer assumed the podium and appeared to be having more fun than anyone, cracking jokes and recalling funny memories from past CinemaCon presentations. Just as he suggests crazy shenanigans are bound to go down this year too, a quartet of bugle players storm the stage from one end while a pair of cushy chairs are carried in from the other, one with Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek and the other with David Spade and Kevin James. Say what you want about the comedic value of “Grown Ups,” but in the flesh, the group knows how to put [ Read More ]

Sony took its turn to tubthump its 2013 slate Wednesday night at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, with a lively surprise appearance from “Grown Ups 2” cast members Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Salma Hayek and David Spade.
“We’re really excited and thankful to Sony for letting us make ‘Grown Ups 2,’” Sandler said. “But it’s not all about ‘Grown Ups 2.’ I know you overseas people are fucking excited about ‘Smurfs 2.’”
The cast was carried onto the stage of the Colosseum in chariots by Caesar dress-alikes. “I want to check in on the chariot carriers to make sure they didn’t blow out a knee,” Smith joked.
Studio distribution exec Rory Bruer introduced the group, and afterwards said, “That’s better than getting peed on by a bear any day,” referring to what happened to him last year while introducing the product reel.
Sony screened roughly 45 minutes of footage from its entire 2013 slate, »

As evidenced by their appearance on Wednesday's Ellen, the stars of Grown Ups 2 are clearly in no rush to, well, grow up. Not that we're complaining. After all, what fun would it be if Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, David Spade and Kevin James decided to get all serious on us, right? Sure enough, the six costars left their maturity at the door to chat with Ellen DeGeneres about everything from who improvises the most to who has the hardest time keeping a straight face while filming. Check out the clip above and see if you can keep a straight face. Meanwhile, Grown Ups 2 hits theaters on July 12. »

Opening with Grown Ups 2 , Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, David Spade and Kevin James came on stage to promote the July 12 release with Sandler promising Hayek a Ferrari if the sequel is as successful as the 2010 original. No new footage was shown, but you can check out the film's trailer by clicking here . Next up, The Smurfs 2 debuted a new trailer, building on the one that debuted in December .
