Home Video Hell: Nothing says “garbage movie” like Victoria Jackson in 7 different roles

  • The AV Club
Home Video Hell is where filmic outcasts—straight-to-video, straight-to-vod, or barely released—spend eternity.

The condemned: Campin’ Buddies (2014)

The plot: Backstory-less friends Tom (Tom Lester) and Rayford (Ray Stevens) participate in an animal-capturing camping competition (bring back the biggest live bird, fish, and “varmint”) in hopes of winning a $550,000 camper bus. After an endless series of encounters with Victoria Jackson in various guises (as a woman trying to steal their money in order to win the contest herself), they fail to capture any animals, so they buy a goldfish, a parakeet, and a rabbit. They come in second place. They go home. That’s it. And even that’s a generous description, narrative-wise. Here’s the movie as embodied by a line from over halfway through: “We wasted more time here today than an Amish electrician.”

Over-the-top box copy: “Campin’ Buddies: A Tom Logan film.” Calling it ...

Former 'SNL' Actress Victoria Jackson on Political Bias at Anniversary Show: "Is Lorne Ashamed of Me?"

Former 'SNL' Actress Victoria Jackson on Political Bias at Anniversary Show:
Victoria Jackson, a six-year veteran of Saturday Night Live, is publicly wondering if her opposition to gay marriage prompted Lorne Michaels to treat her differently than the other cast members who attended the 40th anniversary of the show Sunday. Jackson, on her Facebook page, Twitter and in interviews, has mostly raved about Michaels and thanked the creator of SNL numerous times for hiring her in 1986, though she is also saying that she was the only castmember at Sunday's event to be banished to an overflow room. Some bloggers noted the oddity and were wondering if Michaels or someone

Weeklings!: Hottest Homophobes

This week Alec Baldwin did what he does best: unloaded a tirade filled with gay slurs at a stranger. Just one of his many talents, of course. He can also get kicked off of planes for playing word games, as you know.

Baldwin’s rage got me thinking: Man, most celebrity homophobes are so sexy. Victoria Jackson? Donald Trump? That guy from the Family Research Council? All so naughty. Today we pick the hottest celebrity homophobe and cherish their brave idiocy. You’re all sexy winners, guys! Keep it up!

Victoria Jackson Goes Off The Rails On O’Reilly: First Thing Communists Do Is They Kill The Christians

Victoria Jackson used to be a featured player on Saturday Night Live, now she's actively involved in tea party politics. Bill O'Reilly asked her about her political transformation in an interview that bizarrely ended up being mostly about how much she hates communism. She talked about being on SNL during the Reagan years, and somehow went from that to declaring that communists come for the Christians first.

Review: "Double Exposure" (1983) Starring Michael Callan, Joanna Pettet And James Stacy; Blu-ray Special Edition From Vinegar Syndrome

  • CinemaRetro
By Lee Pfeiffer

The little-seen 1983 thriller Double Exposure has been released on Blu-ray by Scorpion Releasing as a special edition. The film has an interesting background. It was originally filmed in 1971 under the title of The Photographer by director William Byron Hillman with Michael Callan cast as a photographer of beautiful women who also turns out to be a serial murderer. Hillman and Callan were frustrated that the movie received only a limited release. Twelve years later, they collaborated on a remake of the movie using the title Double Exposure. This time around, Callan served as an uncredited screenwriter on Hillman's new script and he also produced the movie, as well. Major script changes included having the main character, Adrian Wilde (Callan), not certain if he actually is a murderer. He's a generally kind and decent man who eeks out a modest living photographing models. He resides in a mobile home in L.

Victoria Jackson on Newtown massacre comments: 'I regret nothing'

Victoria Jackson on Newtown massacre comments: 'I regret nothing'
Victoria Jackson has stood by her comparison of the Newtown, Ct school shooting to Us President Barack Obama's pro-choice abortion policy. The former Saturday Night Live star was roundly condemned for a series of Facebook posts in the hours after a gunman murdered 20 children and six adults last Friday. Jackson openly mocked Obama tearing up as he spoke about the tragedy on Friday evening, writing: "Obama dramatically wiped a tear as he said, 'The majority of those who died today were children - beautiful little kids... They had their entire lives ahead of them - birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own...' "Yeah Obama. Same As The Million Babies You Had Aborted This Year. Are You Crying For Them?" Jackson suggested to The Huffington Post earlier in the week that her remarks were justified. "I don't regret anything (more)

Victoria Jackson unapologetic for her comments about Newtown tragedy: 'This is what you get'

  • Pop2it
Comedian-turned-unfortunate-loudmouth Victoria Jackson made some extremely controversial comments following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Ct last week, though they're not surprising to anyone familiar with her politics. (She said she was disgusted with Christians after Barack Obama won the election, and that America died. She's also said that rape pregnancies are a blessing.)

On her Facebook, the Tea Party member wrote: "My friend Jim Riley posted: 'Wasn't the Connecticut killer just doing what abortionists do every day? It's a wonder we don't have more 20 year old "dads" doing what women and doctors have been an accomplice to for years in America. When you forget the Ten Commandments, people, This is what you get.'"

Commenters quickly took her to task, outraged at her suggestion that the suffering families in Newtown somehow deserved their pain. Jackson, however, remains unapologetic.

"I don't regret anything I have said," she tells Huffington Post.

It's a wonder we don't have more 20 year old "dads" doing what women and doctors have been an accomplice to for years in America," the comic wrote on her Facebook page Friday. Donald Trump, Karl Rove & More: Ranking the Election-Day Meltdowns

Donald Trump called for revolution. Victoria Jackson wept. Fox News' Karl Rove begged to differ with, well, Fox News. Here's a rundown of Election Day's five biggest meltdowns, in ascending order, from rumblings of discontent to a volcanic eruption so great not even the former star of Ugly Betty was left untouched. 1. Karl Rove Takes on Science: When Fox News called Ohio and, in turn, the White House for President Barack Obama, the architect of George W. Bush's campaigns questioned his own network's vote-trackers. Compared to the night's other meltdowns, Rove's thermostat actually held steady. But he turned up the heat by creating great, unscripted TV that even anchor Megyn Kelly called...

Victoria Jackson gives Donald Trump competition in the Sore Loser Championship: 'America died'

  • Pop2it
"Saturday Night Live" alum and right-wing Tea Party member Victoria Jackson is not happy about Barack Obama's reelection as President of the United States. As the news rolled in, she did the American thing: she took to her Twitter to rant and vent her frustration. "America died," she tweeted, and then a few minutes later, "I can't stop crying. America died."

She then turned to Facebook. "The Democrat party who voted God out of their platform and adopted Romans 1 as their platform won. In the Good vs. Evil Battle, today...evil won." Though she did have some supporters in the comments, it appears that most responses lean the other direction. "You know how I know that Obama winning a second term was gods will? Because it happend [sic]," wrote one commenter.

Jackson wasn't done yet, though. Oddly, the self-proclaimed "devout Christian" took aim at her own kind. "Thanks a lot Christians,
