Soul Man Teaser Trailer 1, Teaser Trailer 2: Guillaume Ivernel

29 September 2011 6:31 AM, PDT | Film-Book | See recent Film-Book news »

Soul Man Teaser Trailer. Guillaume Ivernel‘s Soul Man Teaser Trailer 1, Soul Man Teaser Trailer 2 are for CG animated sci-fi movie. The teaser trailers are for full length film Guillaume Ivernel is working on. Soul Man‘s plot synopsis: “A heist has unexpected consequences.”

Like the Angel Vitamina movie trailers and the Rosa (2011) short film trailer, there is a high amount of imagination behind this animation and a fantastic use of tech and color. This is a film that Cameron-Pace Group’s Fusion 3D would ameliorate. The first Soul Man teaser trailer is better than the second Soul Man teaser trailer in my opinion. I am really looking forward to the final product for this project.

Guillaume Ivernel Gives Us Another Taste of His Animated Flick Soul Man

28 September 2011 9:48 PM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Man, this movie looks badass. And when I say badass, I mean badass. An animated sci-fi/action flick featuring a curvy heroine straight of the 70′s sounds like a hell of a good time to me. In fact, this sort of thing needs to happen more often. Sadly, according to the boys and girls over at Twitch, the film has yet to be completed, which means a release date probably isn’t in the cards quite yet. However, to us salivating for more, director Guillaume Ivernel has given us a second trailer, with an extended clip to follow shortly. When that happens, I’ll let you know. Stop by the official Blacklight Movies website for more information »

Fabulous Second Trailer For SciFi Blaxplitation Animation Soul Man

28 September 2011 7:04 PM, PDT | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

There can be only one complaint made about Guillaume Ivernel's upcoming animated feature Soul Man: It's not done yet. Starting from a blaxploitation base with scifi action piled on top this is slick, stylish, very fun stuff with absolutely fantastic production values. Ivernel released a first teaser for the project back in March, one designed to spur further investment so that the project could move ahead, and he's followed that up now with a new, longer tease that you can see below. He promises an eight minute pilot / proof of concept soon. Yes, please. »

Funkalicious One Minute Promo for Guillaume Ivernel’s Soul Man

30 March 2011 11:29 PM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

A sci-fi action-adventure that borrows heavily from the blaxploitation genre, you say? I’ll take it. Director Guillaume Ivernel’s “Soul Man” — a film which, despite its title, features a pretty gnarly female protagonist — is still in development, but that hasn’t stopped this ambitious filmmaker from dropping a promo on the masses. Ivernal is still looking for investors, so if you like what you see and you have some extra cash stuffed in a jar under your bed, you might want to think about helping the guy out. If money was no object, I’d be all over this. Seriously. While we’re waiting for yours truly to strike it rich, why not take a gander at the aforementioned preview. It’s located below. via Twitch function getVideo() { var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/yo033.swf", "mplayer", "590", "375", "8", "#000000"); so.addParam("wmode","transparent"); so.addParam("swliveconnect", "true"); so. »

Why Guillaume Ivernel's Soul Man bears that title when its lead character is very much a woman is something of a mystery. But what's abundantly clear is that Ivernel is aiming to fuse high tech scifi action with a blaxploitation aesthetic and the results could be quite intriguing.Though the film is still in development Ivernel has created a one minute long promo too entice prospective investors and it's a very fun time. Check it out below. »

We’ve Got New Details On “Soul Man” (The “Blade Runner” Meets Blaxploitation Film); Release Date, Upcoming Preview, Official Synopsis…

30 March 2011 10:26 AM, PDT | ShadowAndAct | See recent ShadowAndAct news »

I think it’s safe to say that many of you were just as excited as I was, with the 1-minute teaser trailer for the upcoming animated feature called Soul Man, which I posted yesterday.

Little info was available at the time of that entry, but, thankfully, a producer of the film (Emilien Dessons) emailed me to fill in the holes.

First, what I knew yesterday… its budget is about 35 Million Euros or ($48.5 million); it’s created by Frenchman Guillaume Ivernel, and his Paris-based production house, Blacklight Movies; about 6 minutes of it was screened at Cartoon Movie, the European Cartoon Symposium, early this month, and the response was good; and it’s being billed as “Blade Runner meets Blaxploitation.”

Today, I confirmed that it is indeed a feature-length film (with that budget I’d certainly expect it to be ), and it’s still very much in development right now, with a 2014 release date planned! »

“Blade Runner” Meets Blaxploitation In “Soul Man”

29 March 2011 11:13 AM, PDT | ShadowAndAct | See recent ShadowAndAct news »

Just landed on my virtual desk… a 1-minute teaser for an animated feature called Soul Man… never heard of it until now, and further investigating didn’t reveal much more. Not even an official synopsis.

What I did learn is that it was made for about 35 Million Euros or ($48.5 million) by Frenchman Guillaume Ivernel, and his Paris-based production house, Blacklight Movies (that’s a substantial budget); about 6 minutes of it was screened at Cartoon Movie, the European Cartoon Symposium, early this month, and the response was good; and it’s being billed as “Blade Runner meets Blaxploitation.”

I’m trying to get more info on this, so stay tuned… in the meantime, check out the cool-looking teaser below:
