WWE WrestleMania 33 Predictions

28 March 2017 3:30 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Liam Hoofe with his predictions for WrestleMania 33…

WrestleMania 33 – ‘The Ultimate Thrill Ride’ – is this Sunday night and the WWE have put together one hell of a stacked card.  Every title, bar the Smackdown tag team championships, are set to be defended on the show, while several legends like Triple H and The Undertaker are also stepping back into the ring.

Whether or not the card will be any good remains to be seen, but the company has done a fairly good job in building some excitement for the event in the last month or so – and surely it can’t be any worse than WrestleMania 32? Who knows, but before we get to the event, here are my predictions for how each of the announced matches will play out…

WWE’s Chris Jericho on If It Was Weirder to Cut His Long Hair as Wrestler or Metal Singer

27 March 2017 4:30 PM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

The Hair of Jericho: Cut it off, maaan! It’s not exactly breaking news that WWE Superstar and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho cut off his trademark long, golden locks and now sports a higher-and-tighter look — after all, that happened, like, 10 years ago. Well, TheWrap wanted to talk about hair anyway with the United States Champion when we caught up with him last week, so we did. This reporter asked the heavy metal singer and Codebreaker delivery machine whether it was weirder for his on-stage career or the in-ring one when he ditched the classic rocker and wrestler look. Don’t waste one. »

How Chris Jericho Learned Podcasting From Adam Carolla

22 March 2017 10:45 AM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Chris Jericho isn’t just the WWE United States Champion, he’s also a pretty popular podcast host. The less-dangerous of those two jobs is a natural one for Y2J — the pro wrestler is one of the best promo guys in the business and an accomplished singer, fronting metal band Fozzy. The streaming audio format isn’t Jericho’s first talk radio gig — the “61-minute man” from 2017’s Royal Rumble match used to host an interview show on Nikki Sixx’s SiriusXM channel. “The show ended one week, and PodcastOne came on my radar the next week,” Jericho told TheWrap. »

Wrestlemania 33 championship match changed, Mick Foley fired and more – WWE Raw, Mar. 20, 2017 review

21 March 2017 9:42 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Mick Foley No More

Mick Foley opened the show announcing his leave of absence effective immediately, reading a prepared statement from some index cards. But then good gawd almighty, he broke those index cards in half! Ripping the statement into shreds, Foley began to cut an impassioned promo, but his microphone was cut off. And then Stephanie McMahon came down to cut him off. He was fired, she fired him.

Then Sami Zayn of all people came down to defend Mick, which transitioned into a decent match against Samoa Joe. Sami tapped to the Coquina Clutch, hopefully positioning underdog babyface Sami as the next thorn in the Authority’s side.

That, or Foley just passed him the ‘Stephanie’s going to bury you every week’ torch.

WWE’s Chris Jericho Tells Us Where He Keeps ‘The List’ and What He Was Actually Writing on It

20 March 2017 2:50 PM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

This afternoon, I took up almost 20 minutes of Chris Jericho’s super-busy Monday, asked him a few borderline-asinine questions, and didn’t even make “The List.” To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. After all, there is arguably no better WWE accessory this winter than Y2J’s “The List of Jericho,” generally reserved for those the pro wrestling icon labels a “stupid idiot.” Of course, like so many things meant to be insulting to the “Monday Night Raw” crowd, the fans eat it up — and replicas of the prop now sells as official WWE merchandise. Naturally, we had to ask the. »

Aj Styles to WWE Raw & New Day to Smackdown? Huge Wrestlemania 34 plans leaked…

16 March 2017 11:42 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The ultimate thrill-ride Wrestlemania 33 is just weeks away – with such eagerly anticipated matches as Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar, Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho and Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt. Say what you will about the actual card – you can’t deny that these are feuds that have been patiently built over time. Lesnar vs Goldberg kicked off in November, and both Kevin vs Chris and Orton vs Bray’s storylines date back to August.

WWE is often accused of short-term booking – and that does seem to be the case with episodes of Raw sometimes being redrafted just hours before the show starts – but the overall direction Vince McMahon wants to go in has – this year, at least – been relatively well thought out.

Unfortunately, some of those long-term plans might not be what the fans want.

John Cena “done” after Wrestlemania, Major Nxt star call-up soon?

16 March 2017 10:29 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Big corporate mentalities and fun creative ideas don’t usually work out. Businesses understandably want to make as much money as possible through minimum risk. And because of that, their direction tends to rely on tried and tested, formulaic ideas.

But occasionally, these companies greenlight projects for a low amount of money and then forget all about them. That’s pretty much the story behind how Deadpool got made at 20th Century Fox after 11 year stuck in production development. Luckily for us wrestling fans, two creative projects appear to have slipped under WWE’s radar:

First up is Zack Ryder tweeting:

I hate when people tease things on the internet. Why don't you just say what it is?

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 3/13/2017

15 March 2017 12:11 AM, PDT | | See recent LRM Online news »

We're less than twenty days to Wrestlemania and Monday Night Raw is in the books. As we head toward the WWE's biggest show of the year, we saw Brock Lesnar make an appearance hyping his match against Goldberg at Wrestlemania, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe faced off against Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho in a tag team match, and Roman Reigns have a discussion with the legendary Shawn Michaels discussing Roman's upcoming match against The Undertaker. How did the Red Brand of the WWE stack up?

The opening of the show with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar was another instance of Paul Heyman giving a free lesson in how to give a promo in the ring. On his worst night, Paul Heyman is better on the mic than most people that have ever laced up boots in the history of professional wrestling. Brock Lesnar himself seemed more animated than he usually does in the ring, »

Ex-tna World Champion makes Raw in-ring debut, Wrestlemania 33 match off? – WWE Raw, Mar. 13, 2017 review

14 March 2017 11:16 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Down Goes Goldberg

“Down goes Goldberg!” is Paul Heyman’s latest catchphrase, which he used several times when talking about Brock Lesnar’s F5 on the Universal Champion last Monday. Despite Lesnar’s impressive muscles, there was no real meat here. Just Heyman trying to advance a feud between two guys where neither wrestles anyone else on TV. Eat, sleep, conquer, repeat the same basic promo points over and over again.

Foley’s On Fire!

Stephanie McMahon then gave Mick Foley a fun task backstage – by the end of the night, he has to find someone to fire from the Raw roster. Titus O’Neil-oh, wait he’s doing the tortured decision thing.

Major WWE stars return, Chris Jericho leaving WWE update

13 March 2017 11:54 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Do you ever do that thing where you criticise something to somebody, and then realise they actually love the thing you’re slagging off? Well then spare a thought for Kevin Owens, who sent his Triple H friend Samoa Joe this tweet:

You know, when I told you “Look at Sami’s stupid hat!” during his entrance last night, I didn’t realize you had one just like it.

Kevin Owens (@FightOwensFight) March 12, 2017

Also, do you ever do that thing where you criticise Goldberg and Brock Lesnar for having very short matches, and then getting squashed by them in a similar amount of time? Well then spare another thought for Kevin Owens, who was beaten by Lesnar in just two minutes 13 seconds at WWE’s Madison Square Garden live event on Sunday night.

Post-Wrestlemania 33 feuds revealed? Big WWE star retiring next year?

9 March 2017 11:04 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

After his clean loss at WWE Fastlane to The Big Show earlier this week, following months of ineffectual booking, people are starting to wonder whether someone’s got it in for Rusev backstage. It’s just the latest rumour in his and Lana’s WWE career. Back in 2015, the Ravishing Russian reportedly brought heat on the couple backstage when their real-life engagement went public – while they were involved in a love triangle storyline with Dolph Ziggler. Then she had a badly received Twitter bust-up with Paige.

Rusev is also no stranger to honest remarks on Twitter. He’s gently poked fun at WWE booking decisions in the past – like the amount of matches Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns had earlier this year, and, most recently, wishing Jack Swagger well after the All-American American requested his WWE release. There’s a rumour that tweet is behind Rusev’s Fastlane loss.

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 3/6/2017

7 March 2017 8:12 PM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

Monday Night Raw is complete for another week. On the heels of the Fastlane Pay Per View, how did the WWE Red Brand do in setting themselves up for the Road to Wrestlemania?

The big news of the night involved the ending of the show. Braun Strowman called out Roman Reigns to finish what they started the previous night. As Roman comes to the ring, The Undertaker’s music hits. Braun gives the ring to The Undertaker out of respect who promptly choke slammed Roman Reigns much to the delight of the crowd.

While no match was announced, rumor has it a match we’ll be seeing at the show of shows will be Roman Reigns vs The Undertaker. While I have no issue with the match itself, I do think the creative folks at the WWE are fooling themselves if they think that Roman Reigns being anything other than »

Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens Have ‘The Talk’

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens opened Raw with ‘the talk’. You know, the ‘why did you break up with me and shove my head into an LCD screen’ talk? We’ve all had them. Owens continued the heartbreak from the Festival of Friendship, saying he didn’t stab his best friend in the back, because Jericho was never his best friend.

I don’t believe him, though. I think he really did love Chris. But his own blind ambition has forced him to rationalise otherwise. That’s the true sadness in this story.

They then made a match between themselves for the United States Championship at The Ultimate Thrill-ride Wrestlemania 33. Michael Cole did not let that tagline go.

The two brawled, and then Samoa Joe blindsided Chris, for Sami Zayn to come out and even the odds – it looks like we got ourselves a tag team match, »

WWE Fastlane 2017 – Results & Review

Well the road to Wrestlemania continues for the WWE with the Raw-exclusive pay-per-view Fastlane, one of the companies lesser PPV’s… For most fans this is just the WWE spinning it’s wheels while waiting for the biggest event in the wrestling calendar.

Taking place at the Bmo Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Fastlane opens with a video package showing all the big matches: Owens vs Goldberg, Bayley vs Charlotte, and Reigns vs Strowman. So we know right there that the only titles possibly changing hands in this event will be either the Womens Title or Universal Championship – Gallows and Anderson surely to retain given the non-focus on their match.

As always Spoilers if you haven’t seen the PPV yet…

Opening Fastlane is Samoa Joe vs Sami Zayn in a match that is sure to Not live up to the fantastic Nxt rivalry the pair had prior to their subsequent call-ups. »

Goldberg wins Universal Championship, WWE Fastlane finish botched…

Before last night’s episode of Sunday Night Raw kicked off, Kevin Owens got in one last trashtalking tweet to his Universal Title match opponent…

Judging by those ringside chairs, it appears I won’t be the only one sitting on Goldberg’s face tonight at #WWEFastlane…

Kevin Owens (@FightOwensFight) March 5, 2017

Sounds kind of sexual there, actually, Kevin Owens. Best leave that stuff to Tom Phillips. Who rather wisely – considering his recently leaked sexting Tomspiracy – wasn’t in charge of WWE’s social media lounge last night.

In the end, though, it was Ko who got screwed, where Chris Jericho’s beard made its WWE return just before the bell rang. Goldberg hit a spear, a jackhammer and became the new Universal Champion.

Seth Rollins medically cleared in time or not, The Game will have his Wrestlemania match. So he’s going to shake off the ring rust with a few live events leading up to WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Triple H is being advertised for the 10th March live event in Buffalo, the 11th’s in Toronto and the 26th in White Plains, New York. If those dates sound familiar – it’s because those are the exact same shows Finn Balor is also being advertised for.

In fact, the 26th March show has them going up against each other, as part of a six man tag match with Triple H, Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens taking on Balor, Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho. Wrestling News World has been reporting that if Rollins can’t get back in time for Mania, Balor is The Game’s back-up opponent.

Jeff Hardy to WWE & Matt Hardy to New Japan? Massive changes at Tna…

2 March 2017 7:17 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A lot has gone down in Tna over the last few weeks. Original founder Jeff Jarrett has officially regained control of the promotion after being brought back in by the new owners Anthem Sports and Entertainment. Jarrett, in turn, has changed-up the backstage team, replacing previous Head of Creative John Gaburick with his guy Dutch Mantell – the former Zeb Colter in WWE. With the first batch of TV tapings from the new regime set to start tonight, Tna’s future direction will finally be unveiled.

And it’s going to be pretty different.

In just this week alone, top acts Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis, former World Heavyweight Champion Drew Galloway, current Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy – and now the latest, former Knockouts Champion Jade – have all left the company. The way things are going, expect several other wrestlers to have departed Tna by the time this article goes live. »

When you think of the biggest names in wrestling guys like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair immediately come to mind.  They’re the kings.  They’re the guys who pretty much revolutionized the business.  But there are other names that are also way up there.  Names like The Undertaker, Sting, Shawn Michaels, Randy Savage, The Rock, and plenty of others.  While wrestlers don’t have the biggest shelf lives in the industry there’s one name that’s been a constant for longer than any of us realize:  Chris Jericho. Chris is only 46 years old which pales in comparison to some guys who make

Finn Balor return update, ex-wwe star return plans revealed?

The worlds of professional wrestling and adult pornography crossover more than most would care to admit.

So I’m told.

From a friend.

Candice Michelle used to star in softcore porn films, Hulk Hogan had his sex-tape leaked by Gawker, and following her WWE career, Chyna starred in several adult movies, including Chyna Is Queen of the Ring, where she beat off nine other porn stars in a gang-bang Battle Royal.

So I read.

On the Internet.

On a private browser.

Adult film company Brazzers have now started filming their version of – and it’s surprising it’s taken so long considering the name – the Montreal Screwjob. Which gender bends Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels into porn stars Romi Rain and Mia Malkova, and casts Johnny Castle as Vince McMahon.
