Capcom Sanctioned 'Street Fighter' Series Takes To Kickstarter

9 April 2013 7:52 AM, PDT | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

The creators of "Street Fighter: Legacy" are looking for help to fund their next project, the Capcom-approved "Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist."

Joey Ansah and Chris Howard are two guys who apparently really, really love "Street Fighter." So much so, that after completing and releasing "Legacy" about three years ago, with the help of their producer Jacqueline Quella, the duo acquired the option for the franchise from publisher Capcom to produce "Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist."

Since then, they've gone on to raise independent financing for their production budget, but now they're reaching out to the fan community for the £625,000 (nearly $1 million Usd) to get "Assassin's Fist" made. Ansah says that at this point, the scripts are complete and they've begun staffing up for the production as well as casting, bringing aboard veteran Japanese actor Togo Igawa ("The Last Saumurai), with production set to start later this year with a planned winter 2013 release. »

9 Posters For ’47 Ronin’

23 January 2013 3:34 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

47 Ronin is the true story of a group of samurai setting out to avenge the death of their master. There have been plenty of Japanese adaptations of the famous tale, including unbeatable version such as the 1941 effort by film legend Kenji Mizoguchi, and the 1962 Hiroshi Inagaki version. Both are excellent and should be watched straight away. Do it! However, this December we will finally see the delayed Hollywood adaptation in 3D and starring Kenau Reeves. With first time director Carl Rinsch being removed from the editing room, a ballooning budget, and a supernatural demon (possibly seen in the posters below), I have no idea how this film will turn out. One of the highlights of my trip to Japan was visiting Sengakuji temple which recounts the story of the 47 Ronin and houses their graves. The 7 posters released don’t look too shabby, although their taglines are everything you would expect from Hollywood. »

47 Ronin Posters Reveal New Look at Keanu Reeves as Kai

22 January 2013 1:55 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

47 Ronin, which follows a band of samurai in the 18th century out to avenge the death of their master, was originally set for release in the summer of 2012. That of course changed, and we will now be seeing this Keanu Reeves action epic from director Carl Rinsch this Christmas. Some advanced teaser posters were created for the original 2012 release date, and they have now been leaked, offering up a look at Keanu Reeves as Kai, alongside his nemesis in the film, an armored shogun warrior. These images won't be used in the official marketing launch, but they do offer a good idea about what we'll be seeing once 47 Ronin begins its promotional push later in the year. Expect things to heat up in late summer. For the time being, bite on this first artwork, which gives us a good idea about what we can expect to see.

47 Ronin comes to theaters December 25th, »
